Doing work on my family tree and I found the mother lode. I managed to find a direct link to King Robert The Bruce. The great man is my 20th Great Grandfather. I can now join 200 000 000 people that can claim to be a direct descendant to the greatest warrior King Scotland has ever known.

Proud of my bairn who was awarded a trophy today for her academic work. And that's it for School for the Rutherfords. Exams done, prom done and this, the last school event, done. Next step University. Well done Cadhla. Both your parents are proud as hell.

I feel old today My youngest child has just completed her last official day of school. Yes, she still has exams to do and, all going well, she will be starting University (studying architecture) after Summer. So her education journey continues. But this is still a momentous day.

A wee personal 🧵 25 years ago I was in retail management for the UKs largest supermarket. I was sent to a store in Aberdeen to help close it down, a process that would take months to do I met a girl there and got friendly.

Ha, I came across a selfie I took as I waited for the sunlight to hit the mountain. I remember hoping the reflection would stay. It didn't, but when the light was perfect, the reflection came back.

This platform constantly surprises me. I posted this on the "other place" and got about a couple of dozen likes and a few hundred views. Here, it's become my widest seen image and most liked I've posted on any platform. Amazing what an algorithm that isn't pushing an agenda will do.

Cinema time on Christmas eve And its the perfect Xmas movie Die Hard After all, it's not Christmas until Hans Gruber falls from the Nakatomi Plaza. My girls first time seeing it. Wonder what the younger generation will think of it?

Phew That's Xmas delivered. 4 weeks of 70+ hours 3 am starts Thousands of parcels and 10s of thousands of cards. Depot is clear and empty. I can now stop being a grumpy postie and enjoy the festive season and get some sleep Merry Christmas everyone Now, where did I put my camera?
