Six games ago, Jalen Hurts won the Super Bowl with a different playcaller.

They don’t seem like they want to play. Everything is slow, half-assed, sloppy. I think this is an overused word, but they should absolutely be embarrassed by this effort.

I previously interpreted this as a “we want to control the clock and take as much time on the ball as possible” approach. (Arguably nonsensical when you almost always have a talent advantage.) This is… something else.

If you read this article and ask yourself questions like “what is the author’s actual thesis” and “what evidence does the author actually use to support his thesis,” you won’t find anything like satisfactory answers.

Eagles muzzle Saquon Barkley and the run game, and it speaks volumes about Jalen Hurts
Barkley was held to a career-low nine touches in the Eagles' first loss of the season.

Fans who rationally post about what the team deserves or doesn't deserve are largely illegible to me. I don't care about merit. I want my team to win and when it's stolen from them, I do not care about the context.

TE is your shallowest offensive position, and your top one is out. So the solution is to... lean in to two-TE sets?

This is dumb football-guy nonsense. I do not think there is any chance the Eagles would play worse if they watched a five-minute ceremony where they were reminded how great it feels to win the Super Bowl and how much their fans will love them forever if they do it again.

The Eagles thinking about replacing the Linc with a domed stadium is wasteful and pointless. Fans don't have to give in to the idea that this is compelled by modern economics. The team is making plenty of money, and they don't actually need to squeeze every dollar out of everyone in the city.

The Senate must reject Emil Bove's nomination to the federal bench. His reprehensible conduct at the Justice Department disqualifies him from a lifetime appointment as a federal judge.

Seeing as Emil Bove personally fired me from DOJ in retaliation for prosecuting January 6 rioters, I don’t think he should be confirmed to a lifetime seat as a federal judge. But that’s just me.

Still lots of ways this Phillies season could play out, but it is a huge advantage to have six competent big-league starters (and maybe a seventh coming in two months).

It isn't particularly surprising that, in a weak draft, the Eagles are not getting home run picks falling to them at the end of these Day 2 rounds.

I am not sure what to make of (1) the well-sourced local beats uniformly mocking Walter Nolen to the Eagles, while (2) the national consensus seems to be him being pushed up into the top 20.

NBC's Phils tv production gets worse every season. Ricky Bo adds nothing. They talked over most of the pregame stuff and missed the first pitch. TMac won't stop yelling. Kruk is neither funny nor interesting. Maybe one more game before I fully switch over to the radio for the year.

I don’t know how to stop it, but the post-pandemic trend of anti-social fan behavior directed at the field needs to stop. A VAR call going against your team is not an excuse to chuck hot dogs on the field. Come on.

Average Schefter / RapSheet post: "[TEAM NAME] makes a big splash, signing [RANDOM PLAYER] to a contract negotiated by [NAME OF AGENT]. This was always the expected outcome, as I knew but you didn't. Another fantastic move by [TEAM NAME], doing what they always do."
