I generally agree. I'm low on Volpe and probably always will be. However, I think the desire to see him improve is necessary because the team is not likely to replace him. Even going into arb, he's still going to be pretty cheap and so long as his defense bounces back, he still has some value.

Hearing a lot of 'he just needs to make contact and stop swinging for the fences' in the Volpe discourse. He did that in 2024. And had an 87 wRC+.

My ideas to "fix" the Home Run Derby. Option 1: First round is ten swings total, including homers. Winners advance. Semis and finals the old 10 outs format Option 2: First and second round like the old HRD TV show and do a three inning game between the contestants. Finals is a full 9 inning game.
