Nice walk around Inmosthay quarry this morning Spot Fly Common Redstart Willow Warbler Chiffchaff Blackcap Lots of Swallows and Meadow Pipits overhead Siskin calling Also my ffy Clouded Yellow Painted Lady Hummingbird Hawkmoth

Walk around Inmosthay quarry: Largely cloudy and breezy 1-3 beaufort. Eventually the sun did come out The RVDarter did show itself in the same spot as before Also flushed a Grasshopper Warbler from path towards Fancy's Close, 2 Wheatear north end.

Anyone know which Darter this is? Found last week on the west side of Inmosthay quarry

Another butterfly survey of SY6872 mid-morning onwards. Rather cloudy with a fresh breeze kept numbers down. New Adonis Blue, more Small Coppers, Jersey Tiger flying around part of Tout Q.

Walk: Easton->Wakeham->Yeolands Lesser Whitethroat singing west of Wakeham 1 Painted Lady cliff top towards Yeolands 1 Small Blue 1 male broad-bodied chaser No RVDarter in my time at Yeolands but 1 was seen just before I got there by Brett.

Circular walk: Easton->Watery Lane->Combefield Q->Reap Lane->Barleycrates Lane->Easton Only thing of note Broad-bodied Chaser at Barleycrates

Osprey north over Easton (15:30) heavily mobbed by gulls.

Only thing of note around Inmosthay quarry/tout quarry/west weares was a singing lesser whitethroat.

Stonking male Black Redstart in my Easton garden briefly then flew south

@portlandbirdobs.bsky.social Just had a small wing-barred warbler through the garden but it flew south before I could get my bins on it. Only a very fleeting glimpse but it did call once. Not Yellow-browed but shorter and lower pitched.

Screening Swifts are back over Easton this morning. Also a 200+ flock of gulls on a thermal just south of Easton briefly before dispersing along with Buzzard and Peregrine. Bop sp., possibly Harrier, circled high before flying south west

Hobby over Easton mid morning, Picked up well to the south as it and gulls were circling on a thermal. Took 20 minutes to get close to the southern end of Easton then as it dropped veered east. @portlandbirdobs.bsky.social
