How I long to bring back the non-chain convenience stores of my 90’s childhood.

One of my great annoyances at the state of Canadian politics is how little time is spent even CONSIDERING projects like high speed rail. Everyone I know is angry at the 2 airlines and the price gouge/service decline spiral we're stuck in. You know what's good for predatory corps? COMPETITION.

As someone who used to tweet multiple times a day then slowed down to almost 0 after the exodus of everyone in the dark days, I have no memory of what I used to have to say about anything at all.

After the 2016 election, I remember seeing a lot of introspective posts about how people wanted to try to avoid echo chamber social media because that was why everyone was caught off guard with his surprise win. It feels strange to see kind of the opposite happening here.

There’s one thing I know for sure after 33 years working in cities all over the world — there’s nothing inevitable or unchangeable about the way your city is. Your city is the result of decisions & choices. Like every city. Different decisions or choices could have been made, and STILL can be made.

Defaulting into the Following tab, scrolling for a bit, getting a little bored and closing the app is such a welcome change from the screaming rage cage, dopamine mine that Twitter became. I kind of forgot what this experience was like. It's nice.

I think one of my favourite time(s) of year for photography is that tiny window of time where the fresh snow is on the ground but lakes aren't full frozen sheets of white ice/snow yet. Luckily managed to catch that window at Shane Lake this weekend. 📸
