Friday for me means no teaching (phew) and all the writing. I might not be able to write my shiny new idea (see previous post) but I can plod on with the current wip which, if rumour is true, because it’s the hardest book I’ve written is going to be the best, right? 😂 #amwriting

I have come up with an exciting - and what I think is utterly brilliant - idea for a retelling of a childhood classic with a dystopian twist. Trouble is, I have to wait until 2039 for the original work to be in the public domain 🤦‍♀️

I had an absolute blast at the inaugural Chiltern Kills Festival yesterday! Early night tonight methinks… 😂

Yep, I’m the muppet who thought parents evening was online - just as it has been for the last four years - and was sat at her computer trying to log on when her 14yo walked in and asked what time we were heading to school for the IN PERSON parents evening. 🤦‍♀️

For the first time since July, and since separating with my husband, I am writing new words for a new novel and I am SO HAPPY ABOUT IT! 💪🏼 I’ve been struggling to be creative soooo much, so this feels very, very good.

Covid in the house again. 14yo this time. Never rains but it fecking pours… 😖

October is a busy month, but this event is going to be a blast. 😊👍

A new chapter in my life… today is my first day in the flat that my husband and I are taking it in turns to live in as we navigate our separation. BUT ALSO… I handed in my structural edits on time!! So, I’m treating myself to a mid afternoon cognac… why the hell not… cheers!
