the good thing about travelling is that you constantly gather teaching material. today's example: a man insists my seat is actually his, eventually has to admit this is not the case, bangs his head when getting up to move, and berates me for it. now, class, describe the defence mechanisms at work!

still not so sure whether this is the right way to greet new students, or whether it has potential to either foster narcissism or social anxiety (depending on how you’re inclined)… but perhaps that's just me.
