Radiophrenia is BACK, and sounding glorious. A refreshing antidote to All The Other Radio. đź“» If you like your radio on the actual radio đź“» but you're not in Glasgow, it's also being relayed on 104.4FM across London via
@resonancefm.bsky.social
, and on DAB+ in several UK cities via Resonance Extra. đź“»

Roy Ayers was an incredible musician, and a huge influence on me. First saw him play live in 1996, final time in 2022. Rest in peace.

“But the small single play that allows a writer to be themselves or rather – crucially – to become themselves is increasingly rare. A writer’s loss is an audience’s loss too…”

BBC radio drama is in grave danger. Without it we may lose the next generation of writing talent
Hundreds of hours of original plays have been cut from the corporation’s programming in recent years. If the trend continues, a valuable training ground for writers will be lost

One of my first pieces for Short Cuts in 2012 was 'Can't Rewind The Past':

I've made loads more since then, right up until the most recent series. Falling Tree enabled me - URGED me - to be more creative, more experimental, more risky. So sad it's leaving Radio 4.

I'm not seeing enough love for James' brilliant Radio 4 documentary about Bullseye so here it is

Hello. I've returned from holiday to re-emerge here on bluesky... and to learn that James McMahon has died, at the sickeningly young age of 44. James hosted the Radio 4 doc we made about the TV darts quiz 'Bullseye' in 2021. James was hugely talented, hugely creative, a joy to work with. RIP.
