My sib-in-law saw a hot topic type of cheap vinyl bag based on Calcifer from Howl’s and asked if it might be possible for me to make a similar handmade item for them. Quite proud of this goofy little sucker.

Spring Queen x Fall King outfits for an upcoming event. Pieces in the set we made: King - pauldron, sporran, circlet crown, moccasins. Queen - spaulder set, bracers, corset, moccasins.

Did we spend the afternoon making bark style bracers to go with Holly’s new armor? Why yes, yes we did.

Okay, I’m very proud of this one - used a couple of new techniques to make a forest elf gorget and spaulder set. Also, Holly makes an incredible elf. Gosh, she’s regal.

Feeling a bit like this lately, as I sit up in the wee hours of the morning burnishing the edges on a new leather project.

Inhalers have been visual shorthand for “nerd” for as long as I can remember. In my particular case the stereotype does hold up, I suppose, although I was a track letterman in school. Is track the nerdiest of the sports? Maybe. Anyway, cheers, ya nerds. It’s breathing season!

Holly and I are shoemaking today. The leather she wanted to use was a bit thin, so we lined it with a nice purple suede.

We are playing Stardew Valley the board game. Ivy got a mermaid pendant, thus can get married. Ivy has two marriageable candidates on the board currently - Maru and Sam. “I’m marring Maru. I’ve played through Sam’s storyline in the game and he’s clearly in love with Sebastian.”

Made a moon bag, then altered the pattern to make a matching sun bag. Had to dilute the blue dye a bit to get the sky color I wanted, but I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out.

LEGO's has made lots of Marvel sets, but never a Fantastic Four set. After months of buying individual pieces, doing some hodgepodge work, and even purchasing one specific custom piece, I have finally built my own set of FF LEGO minifigs. (this gag is primarily for @supersentaibros.bsky.social)

Podcasting friends - I don’t love advertising big ol box stores, but if you’re in need of new or backup mics, you may want to check your local Walmart. I’ve always had good luck with AT’s line of USB mics (several of our hosts use them) and this is a great price.

Leather work - and particularly stitch work - has been a very good quieting hobby for me in a tricky stretch of mental health. I made another coffin bag, but this time with a star instead of an ankh!

After 20 years of collecting Muppet video stuff, throwing it in a folder, and thinking "someday I'll sort this folder out," I have finally sorted the folder out. It took nearly 3 weeks. Friends, I have ~2 thousand Muppet video files. But now I can watch them on my Plex server!

It's been 2 years and I still can't get over how good We Are the Union's "Ordinary Life" is. A relentlessly hooky examination of dysphoria, heartbreak, and moving forward packaged into an album which also serves as vocalist Reade's coming out as a trans woman. Incredible album.

This is a reminder for you that while the Mayhem show was a blast, "Back to the Rock" remains the best Muppet related storytelling we've gotten in a very long time. It lives within its heritage while feeling alive and vibrant and new. Gosh, I love that show.
