I'm making granny squares to turn into a blanket. I'm not good at it, but it keeps my hands busy and produces a tangible result.

I've contact my representatives and also the state governor asking that they speak out against That Guy's actions, and asking that they proceed with and/or support impeachment or removal by 25th Amendment. To support this is unconscionable.

I'm generally at peace with my "black graphic tee and jeans" uniform, but it's getting toward stupid hot season. What is the spring/summer alternative?

My kids have been home on spring break all week and when I tell you I haven't gotten any writing done. They're my delight, I love them, and they are attention- and energy-suckers.

Shredded crockpot chicken, baked potatoes, roasted broccoli for dinner. Obvs kids ate none of it because they're uncultured heathens, but husband and I enjoyed it.

I seem to hit my "project wall" around 55-69k, and sure enough I'm there with current unnamed WIP. The question is always is it worth finishing that draft zero?

I had to go to the Johnstown Flood Museum on field trips three or four times. Once my dad (a teacher) was chaperoning and let me skip the dramatized video because he knew it gave me nightmares.

I have had too much caffeine and not enough sleep (convention!) so I am very sorry for typing "entitties" instead of "entities".

Convention logic: "I will eat before my panels." Does not eat before the panels. "I will eat at 11:30 at night."

I'm attending (panels, reading, etc) a convention this weekend and I appear to be having pre-game imposter syndrome. Brains are stupid.

As someone who grew up on folk music (we saw Peter, Paul, and Mary in person!) I will never get over the incredibly good tunes in "A Mighty Wind".

Today's fun was an IEP to 504 meeting for K1. He's going to high school next year and everyone had very positive things to say. It was also a good reminder that what I see is him unmasking after a long day and not the whole picture.

Last night I wrote out a list of things I wanted to get done today. Later last night K3 developed a hacking cough and fever high enough he had to stay home from school. It never fails.

Finally watched Wake Up Dead Man. That is a darn good movie. And a hot priest. And a delightful experience. I've been thinking about faith in creative projects lately and that was an interesting data point to add to my thoughts.

INBOX: Rep. Thomas Massie, who has enraged Trump for his insistence on blocking tariffs and releasing the Epstein files according to the law, just issued what is widely known among Chinese dissidents as "a declaration of no suicidal intent" (不自殺聲明), a sign of extreme distress.

Charcuterie and The Emperor's New Groove for movie night. (Not our first time watching.) All four kids agree it's a great movie. I'm not sure any other movie has that honor.

I'm waiting to pick up K1 from school and I just noticed that the truck next to me has, instead of a car antenna, a large black bullet with a small American flag painted on it. I recoiled and made an absolute look of disgust before I could fix my face so I hope that mom didn't see me.
