What does everyone think about Barret's Theme? It begins quite silly with the pizzicato strings. When I see this character, this is not the timbre that comes to mind. Perhaps it's telling the player something about his softer side, though! The B section is very Uematsu! youtu.be/8DESkuEYfyM

Here's another great character theme from FFVII. It's mildly interesting how the flute and bassoon lines were divided between two (monophonic) channels on the PlayStation, perhaps to achieve a legato effect. Nice mode mixture, too! youtu.be/VZ4-ig-ZtRM
