(I Googled + saw it's from Bees) - NO ONE thought to disarm the dude who shot Jamie?? - I've loved Annie Lennox's version, but hearing Raya back?? INSTANT TEARS - JAMMF wanting to troll people as a ghost 😂

14) The way each character was saying goodbye to each other and seeing each other off one last time hit me SO hard. It felt so right that we get a little time with each of them, like saying our own goodbyes one at a time. I do so wish Claire and Brianna's goodbye wasn't just implied here though...

13) "Frank was wrong." DAMN RIGHT HE WAS. I LOVED hearing those words come out of her mouth, esp after the way this season was practically idolizing him. He ALWAYS underestimated Claire and her love for Jamie up until the very last. So enjoy that icy road, Fr*nklin!! And good riddance to his VOs

10) I think many actually guessed the ending — when they were "safe" my notes literally say "I DON'T TRUST THIS ONE BIT" 😅 — and yet it still managed to catch me off guard. The suspense + shock were SO good 11) "Dinna fash" SHE DEFINITELY WILL FASH JAMES 12) "He just needs to rest" TORE MY HEART OUT

9) Sam Heughan getting to go full General mode is absolutely where he shines. Quietly looking out for all his men or charging on a battlefield, he brought his all to this episode and it was incredible to see. And then going back to play Young!Ghost!Jamie. THE RANGE.

7) One thing I'll say about this season is that no matter how I feel about the unnecessary time spent on the arcs, the actors playing the side-characters are outstanding. Such a strong showing from literally everyone 8) Florrie in particular has been so commanding. Can't wait to see her star rise!!

6) The nostalgia + callbacks this ep were so well done. Not only the flashbacks + S1 opening credits!! But in Jamie x Claire's words + mannerisms. Jamie bowing to her. Claire kissing his shoulder. Sweary!Claire running off when she's told to stay put 😅 "Mo chridhe". MULTIPLE SIGNATURE HEAD TOUCHES!!

4) Jamie making his will out, and with his voiceover, made me curse him out lol ngl because how DARE HE PREPARE FOR HIS DEATH. I loved how doing so brought everyone in like Willie + Marsali who weren't in the ep 🥺 5) "To my nephew Ian, who has been like a son to me" I NEEDED TO HEAR THIS SO BADLY 😭💜

3) I've said this before and I'll say it till someone finally does the right thing: GIVE CAITRÍONA BALFE ALL THE AWARDS. She is the very definition of a powerhouse actress. My frustrations with S8 lie mainly with Claire being side-lined, but MY GOODNESS did MBR come thru last minute to correct that

2) This was possibly the most beautiful love scene of the ENTIRE series. The passion and yet care they took with it. The wordless way they looked at each other that was pure devotion and memorizing each other's features. The way Claire stayed awake just to look at him a little longer. BEAUTIFUL

1) Our two leads have proven how perfect they are for their roles + no scene exemplifies that more than the bed scene, the last they shot together. Only they could take a dialogue heavy, 8min scene with no music or anyone else + make it truly captivating. To Caitriona + Sam, BRAVO. And thank you 💜💜💜

This final ep needed to accomplish a lot. I expected so much from it. And my goodness. IT DELIVERED. The preview scene we saw (well, part of it) was a clip of the last scene S&C ever filmed together. It was absolutely beautiful, and without giving too much away it’s the scene from the preview with them in bed and him stroking her cheek.
