A few weeks ago I reported that 911 calls showed two overdoses at Camp East Montana. The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement that these overdoses were from psychiatric medication and a "self harm" incident. These were actually the second and third suspected OD's in the center.

The Guatemalan media Prensa Comunitaria is reporting that the head of the Special Prosecutor’s Office Against Impunity, FECI, Rafael Curruchiche, was removed from his position this morning by the new head of the Public Prosecutor's office. Curruchiche has sought to find favor in the Trump admin.

Guatemala's new Attorney General, Gabriel García Luna, took office Sunday. He replaces María Consuelo Porras, who had faced accusations of corruption and trying to undermine democracy. He announced he will dissolve the FECI, an anti-corruption body that has become a major source of impunity.

Multiple deportation flights continue each day to Guatemala, but the number of deportees continues to fall behind what was seen in 2024. According to the Guatemalan Immigration Institute, there have been 20,016 people deported as of Thursday, May 7. There were an average of 4,825 deported since Jan.

Again, the idea of hundreds of thousands of missing migrant kids is MADE UP. This whole thing came from a misinterpreted DHS OIG report that said that from 2019 to 2023 (half Trump, half Biden), ICE failed to start removal proceedings for 291,000 unaccompanied kids — not that they were "lost."

I know I’ve already reposted but…Trump I demolished a global refugee resettlement infrastructure in the name of vetting. Biden, somehow, genuinely rebuilt it. Trump II hasn’t just redemolished it but made a farce of it, by building an active recruitment pipeline which is the opposite of vetting.

After gutting the Office of the Immigration Detention Ombudsman (created by Congress to protect people held in custody) last year by cutting its staff 90%, the Trump admin kills it completely at a time when ICE deaths have reached record levels. This is deliberate indifference.
