British people know that visa free travel/living/working/studying is good for everyone.

Then, if it was done to them, you can’t beat people up for wanting their rights back.

This has to be one of the most foolish comments I have seen . There is absolutely no cheating. People who were lawfully living and residing for part of the year were left unprotected by the Brexit agreements .

Given that the Eu were prepared to negotiate n mobility that is simply an a false assertion from you.

It’s a false assertion because you claimed folk were dishonest . You wrongly labelled thousands of people . From the way you have posted it’s clear you misunderstand what we seek.

While it is a sovereign decision by the UK to leave the EU any reset in the relationship inevitably involves the EU .

Our campaign asks for 1. Protection under withdrawal agreement (or similar) for everyone living lawfully in Spain part-year before Brexit. 2. UK passport holders to be admitted visa free for up to six months every time they visit Spain irrespective of time in other countries.

What opponents say really doesn’t matter. If we are in the majority now, then politicians can proceed with confidence. This is why the work of @savefom.bsky.social and @andrewhesselden.bsky.social is so important because they are tacking head-on the false idea that British people hate FOM.

Our members meet with MPs every week to demonstrate why EU membership is necessary. While MPs insist that it’s not necessary, not desirable or impossible, we show them why mobility matters.

Saying we can’t go forwards and can’t go backwards is what frustrates people, especially the people who didn’t want Brexit in the first place.

EU needs to reject promptly while presenting options that they are less likely to reject. This requires some better communications and media management to do well.

Refusing to debate or address any of the aspects of EU membership that people might want, does not help advance the case for EU membership

Boldly declaring what the EU is and must also be to others is just the same kind of absolutism that has been pushed by Brexiters.

EU membership is what it is and it means different things to different people. To someone seeking to make a business transaction, it probably is transactional. For someone seeking a cultural experience, it certainly is cultural. The inability of groups to understand others keeps us stuck.

British people didn’t vote for Brexit in order to hurt other people. At least not in any majority. There’s no evidence they did. And remember, this was an advisory reference and a government decision.

Some of them did it to hurt other ppl here in UK. A former schoolfriend seemed motivated by resentment & spite. I will never forgive her. They wanted to kick those of us with wider imaginative & intellectual horizons; who see ourselves as European first. They took our rights & selfhood.

Then, if you didn’t vote for Brexit to punish foreigners, why that assume everyone else did? That’s not rational or reasonable

I’m not asking for sympathy for them, nor suggesting they didn’t take it seriously. Only that they were misled and that, given the complexity of the issue (David Mitchell was prescient on that), Kahneman’s prediction that the choice would ultimately be emotional.

Would be interesting to know WTF he thought was going to happen and what his main reasons for voting Leave were. I favour not beating up Leave voters but just asking open questions until they realise they’ve been had.
