Watching the Bricks and Minifigs saga unfold has been a frustrating experience as a lawyer. On the one hand, I’m ultra sympathetic to the aggrieved Lego set owner, but entrusting an angsty teen to flail against the civil court system on your behalf maybe wasn’t the best tactical plan.

Out playing mini golf and my wife hit her ball into a water feature. Per rules, she must now go back and fetch a new ball. But she won’t let me play on because she says I’ll cheat. And yes, I would. But where is the trust? Have I not earned a little consideration?

I wasted my youth. I look back on it with tremendous regret. I went to the University of Texas, home of the most beautiful women on the planet earth, and spent the whole time playing video games and watching anime. There are definitely jobs I shouldn’t have. Like… dating coach, or sex columnist.

I took Little Bit out camping this Memorial Day weekend to our local state park. We invited three of our friends, each with their own preschoolers. These are the memories I hope we are building.

I think buying a house was the best financial decision I ever made. Not because I locked in a great interest rate or have seen a lot of appreciation, but because being tied to a specific physical space that can be filled is the only real barrier to me spending all my money on Lego sets.
