This weekend we headed out of Cardiff, guiding a father and daughter from the US, Dave and Sofia, on our Three Castles Tour, from Cardiff Castle, up the Taff Trail via Castell Coch to Caerphilly. We called in at Nantgarw China Works. Sofia wore her Cardiff (San Diego) sweatshirt for the occasion!

At a time when multi-culturalism is under scrutiny… Today I took visitors from Portsmouth, Spain and Canada to the Betty Campbell statue in Cardiff. It celebrates how people can live together “regardless of where they come from or the colour of their skin.” One of the guests was moved to tears.

If we really are becoming an “island of strangers”, one remedy is to get to know each other better. Just a thought.
