Turns out, we weren’t the only tour in town. The farewell ride for Cardiff cycling legend Geraint Thomas. We’re always on the lookout for guides with local knowledge, bike know-how and time on their hands.

This weekend we headed out of Cardiff, guiding a father and daughter from the US, Dave and Sofia, on our Three Castles Tour, from Cardiff Castle, up the Taff Trail via Castell Coch to Caerphilly. We called in at Nantgarw China Works. Sofia wore her Cardiff (San Diego) sweatshirt for the occasion!

Sun-kissed bike ride to recce a tour option. (In my BBC days, recces normally involved checking satellite signals outside court buildings or schools )

Who says the US and Canada don’t get on? They certainly do on a bike trip with Ding. Great company in the form of visitors from Quebec and Georgia.

You can find a Cyberman in the most unlikely places. Such as St John’s Church, Cardiff. You don’t have to be a time traveller - just join a Ding tour.

Welcome to Cardiff/Wrexham. Yesterday’s Ding customers, Scott and Sharon, from Kansas City are fans of the hit TV series, Welcome to Wrexham, and as a consequence now fans of the football club. A brief stop-off in Cardiff before heading north to see victory over Rotherham.

We've guided 24 people from 12 different countries around Cardiff over the last couple of days. They're all here for a town planning and property academic conference. Among them, it was lovely to welcome our first guests from Poland and Israel.

Beautiful morning for a spin round Cardiff with Gwenda, Jim and Tomos from

. Good to show them the cycling infrastructure (with a bit of history thrown in), plus the bits that need extra work - eg improving accessibility In Hamadryad Park.

On our bike tours, we stop off at Cardiff castle and suggest that people might want to take a guided tour inside (on foot). Here’s one of the reasons why.

Guided Cycle Tours of Cardiff
Along bike lanes and through the city’s parks, you’ll learn the history behind Cardiff’s landmarks and visit the parts other tours can’t reach. With frequent stops and an easy pace, you don’t need to be super-fit – just a competent cyclist. And the added ingredient? Our friendly guides, featuring journalists and broadcasters, will pass on their own experiences of living and working in the city. So, give the bell a ding and come along for the ride.
