Whenever I open up a new TTRPG rulebook and it hits me with the ole "feel free to ignore any rule if it makes a better story!" well, I think I'll start by ignoring that rule. Like, which one of us is supposed to be the game designer of this ruleset YOU sold me, me or you?

Reminding people that correcting the misnaming Norse people as Vikings isn't a pedantic issue of calling a cat a cat, it's about mischaracterisation of Medieval Scandi culture as a bunch of bloodthirsty barbarians. You can call actual vikings vikings when they're essentially pirates.

the narrative argument is a very different argument in short, I don't think about "the narrative" as a concept when I play ttrpgs there are things that happened, but no distinct "narrative" separate from the events of the fictional world so I think about tools as supports for gameplay instead

Playtesting the new TTRPG highlighted some issues, so I've been addressing those. The importance of playtesting cannot be overstated.
