The current polling by Norstat of Scottish voting intentions is frightening. They predict that Reform are going to run Labour close to become the main opposition party at Holyrood, with 20% of the constituency vote, and 18% list. Prof John Curtice calculates Labour to have 20 MSPs, and Reform 19.

While the obituaries are still pouring in about how Menzies Campbell was a formidable politician, etc, I think we should also take a moment to remember he was no saint. He was outed like many of abusing the MPs expenses system. Or worse, his last major intervention in internal Lib Dem politics.

There should be no surprise that Keir Starmer made his despicable remark about how Britain was at risk of becoming “an island of strangers”, if we didn't curb immigration. His Home Secretary and Chancellor spent the last 10 years pandering to the far-right on immigration.

Yet another Keir Starmer promise has been broken. What he is proposing is cruel and divisive and will only undermine our public services. You can't beat the far right by pandering to them or by throwing migrant workers and communities under the bus.

I wasn't surprised by Yvette Cooper's disgusting attack on the care sector and immigration yesterday. She's been openly calling gor Labour to pander to UKIP on immigration since 2015. The Chancellor also while in opposition, gave a speech on immigration that was akin to the 'Rivers of Blood'.

The claim by Yvette Cooper that there is a link between immigration and higher levels of inactivity (related to sickness and disability) has absolutely no basis in evidence or data. Just retrofitting the evidence to the policy...
