21 substitutes in today’s Asda shop. That’s about a 1/3 of my order! Next year I’m just going to send someone into the shop with some cash and say ‘Surprise me!’ 😂 (we have Turkey, wine and cheese so we’ve got the bases covered)

For the past month or so I’ve picked up a pack of pigs-in-blankets with every shop in case of a Christmas shortage. I now have 60 (piggies, not packs). But something compels me to buy more. Do I have - a) a problem or b) a heathy respect for seasonal food

I have promised my boys that I will watch all the Lord of the Rings films with them this Christmas. There is now talk of extended versions and I am full of regret.

I’m writing a Christmas novel I accidentally started on the train when I was visiting my sick mum (this is very much NOT on my to do list). Gimme your favourite Christmas book/ film tropes. I’m avoiding rich writers who buy castles in Scotland but anything else is fair game.

Managed to get home before the storm hit. Greeted by this sight at the airport. Alas, they weren’t there for me. But, for avoidance of doubt, this is how I want to be met off the plane from now on.

Staying at my mum’s this week and last night my room was full of flies - 20 -30 of the things. I immediately started looking for the dead body (as you do) but it turns out they were hibernating in the window frame. Who knew?

Yesterday I finished reading Over My Dead Body by Maz Evans and, let me tell you, it is GLORIOUS!! I laughed, I cried, and it made me insanely happy. (Most of the books I read leave me feeling slightly anxious and worried about the state of the world if I’m honest 😂)
