Found a 40 year old photo of the High School Senior Year version of me. Clearly I was going an Alan-Rickman-as-an-evil-mastermind hair & beard combo... ...even though I was a few years away from seeing Die Hard and/or Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

I'm a cynic. So for me, this is a dangerous thing to feel... ...but last night gives me hope.

This goes double for anything any milk brained pundits think of last night’s elections. Their takes will be bad! We know they will be! Who cares what they think, they have been loudly and enthusiastically proven wrong in races literally everywhere.

Lucas Meyer turned in a double page layout today for SUPERMAN UNLIMITED #8 that has one of my favorite sequences in anything I've ever *done* for DC Comics. And it all comes down to execution. Seriously, Lucas can draw *anything*.

There's an obvious scene in SUPERMAN UNLIMITED #8 that I don't think has been shown before in a DC comic. I live for those moments. There's a designer, Scott Love, who once said, "Only the most foolish of mice would hide in a cat's ear. But only the wisest of cats would think to look there." 😸

There are enough movies where I feel like you could make it a genre: "You're In a Sci-Fi Future, But It's Really the 80's." Running Man Robocop (and its sequels) Total Recall They Live Back to the Future 2 Am I missing any? Would Demolition Man count? Is BTTF 2 cheating?

This is just the cruelty, destruction, and corruption we can see. It'll be years later when we learn all of the hidden stuff that's even worse.

Binged SOLAR OPPOSITES Season 6. The final episodes did a great job of putting a nice bow on the entire series. Excellent use of The Wall... with a bit I didn't see coming, but made perfect sense. Loved that! And Episode 5 might have been one of my favorite episodes of the whole run.

Do you ever look at the trending topics and imagine what it'd be like if they were all parts of the same story?

What would be even more awesome: Show it. Both Marvel and DC Studios do behind-the-scenes features to promote the shows and movies. Have a feature showcasing the original comic book art and contrast it w/ scenes & sequences from the movies/shows. That would create MORE interest. It'd be a win-win.

I've recently seen this post used to imply I somehow don't want comic creators to be compensated for their contributions that get used in films & TV shows. Let me be clear. When you get to be a consultant you get PAID. You get paid WAY more than the standard honorarium. And you get to CONTRIBUTE.

Sometimes the magic ingredient is time. Silver Surfer #11 was something I worked on, on the side, for many months. Same for Ren & Stimpy Special #3 (6 months). While still getting out issues before-and-after on a monthly schedule. There was a LOT of lead time at the start of my ASM run...

Sad to hear about the passing of the Michelangelo of Movie posters, RENATO CASARO. The Man painted so many iconic posters, specially in the 70s/80s: CONAN, TERMINATOR, DUNE, TOTAL RECALL, DANCE WITH THE WOLVES, BLOW OUT, FLASH GORDON, RAMBO, NEVER-ENDING STORY, and the list goes on and on. 1/2

Spider-Man 2: I was an adult w/ a bank account + it was Spider-Man 2. Spider-Verse: AMC Stubs + skin in the game. 5th place: Star Wars.

Little known fact: The game Reed and Doom play actually works as a real game of chess. My nephew used to play in tournaments and he mapped out a workable set of moves for the story. And we gave him a "chess consultant" credit in the issue.🙂
