Dear People Who Make Action Figures, Can we please get more Superman figures where he's smiling or looking hopeful? Even if it's just for an extra alternate head? Too many Superman figures are scowling, straining, or yelling. The Superman I'm a fan of is a guy who makes you feel safe and at ease.

Sometimes the question isn't: Is this movie good or bad? Sometimes the question is: Was this movie meant for me? Not every movie has to be made for you. Especially when there are so many movies out there.

I've now seen most of Marcos Martin's inks for our ASM #1000 story. I'm so proud of this one, and honored it's going into the 1,000th issue. Spider-Man is my favorite character in all of fiction. I've spent over a quarter of my life writing stories for him, and I am so grateful for your support!

I can't impress on you how differently your brain works when you're working on a 22 page script and a 20 page script. Those two extra pages are game changers.

Today, I established in canon that if you're in the DCU you can get an app for your phone called "Shaz-App". If there's a super hero flying around, and you don't know who they are, just take a pic on your phone and Shaz-App will pull up their Codename, Power Set, and Fact File.

Quick tip for writing licensed comics: Don't skate past a "first". No matter how obvious it seems, ask yourself: Is this the 1st time this character has taken THIS action? ...met this OTHER character? ...set foot in THIS location? There's a LOT of magic in a character's first time doing anything.

The one and only disagreement Mike and I had during our entire Silver Surfer run: He wanted a tiny bit of stubble to appear on Norrin's scalp in Panel Two. And I thought the gag worked better if he stayed 100% bald. That was it. The other 29 issues: We were of the same mind on EVERYTHING. :)

Spectacular Spider-man Brand New Day 1 was a fun comic. I enjoyed it as an experienced reader & it did all the right things to be someone's first Spider-man comic too. If you liked it OR know someone else who would, what you need to do is put in a preorder. Stores raise orders when that happens!

It will always be my mission any time a Roy Lichtenstein theft appears in my feed to remind the world others did it first and better — in this case Russ Heath, artist for the story "Aces Wild," written by Hank Chapman, and published in All-American Men of War #89 (Jan-Feb 1962).

I've just re-read a lettered copy of SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY #2 (the first issue is out this Weds.)... ...and it's a *good* Spider-Man comic. I can't impress upon you enough: If you want there to be ANOTHER monthly Spidey book on the racks, we need your support right out of the gate.
