Just wrapped up FALL: OR, DODGE IN HELL by Neal Stephenson and...that was not what I was expecting. Kind of a mix between the Bible, SNOW CRASH, Dungeons & Dragons, and...yeah. Could've been about 1/3rd shorter, but not terrible. Just...not where you'd expect it to end from the first half.

2 pints of B&J... One Phish Food is no more. I will probably regret it later but right now I do not.

I have watched, this past week, the director's cut/special editions of Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, and reg versions of Alien: Romulus, Prometheus, and Covenant. I am now watching the extended edition of AvP, to be followed by the ec AvP: Requiem. Xenomorphs dancing through my head.

If @keezyyoung.bsky.social could drive, I bet they would drive this and solve many mysteries.

I may have gone overboard at the grocery store as I got four half gallons of ice cream (chocolate ganache, black raspberry) and three pints of Ben & Jerry's (Phish Food, Cookie Dough Core). I am throwing no parties. It is for me.

Had to use rubberized sealant on something & now it looks like I'm wearing glove fingers. If you need any electrical work done now's the time to ask. I'll spray some on my feet to be doubly safe.

I watched this OTD in 1994, though it was a Sunday back then. I will watch any and all King adaptations by Mick. Garris, Darabont, and Flanagan are top notch for faithfulness to the books/stories.

Battlestar Galactica is back on streaming so *of course* I am watching it *again*. Think this makes my six or seventh rewatch. I frickin love that show. Not even worried if another reboot ever comes to fruition as long as I have that one.

If anyone wants to buy this for me I'll cart you wherever you need to go in North and South America.

Since I can see again I moved all my Stephen King books back to the old bookshelf & now have my leatherbounds, classic horror novels, David J Skal books, non-fiction, Sherlock Holmes, Shakespeare, and Mark Twain books on the new old bookshelf.

Small but decent comic shop stop today (right pic). Slowly finding all the Infinite Crisis books (left). Still looking for Final Night, I have the hc Crisis on Infinite Earths, tpb Zero Hour, need to re-find Identity Crisis. Also trying to find DC One Million.

Used the bathroom without needing a flashlight for the first time in weeks. Ask me anything.

And, lo, on the 21st day, he awoke to find his lights on. I FINALLY GOT MY POWER BACK! THREE WEEKS! BUT IT IS ON NOW! I ALMOST FORGOT WHAT IT WAS LIKE!

Two power company service trucks came by...and neither turned my power back on. 😭

Ok, I'm done.

Talked to a senior specialist in new construction & was told explicitly the inspection has been done and they have me on the schedule to come out as soon as they can to restore power. Have the work order number but I can't view it, so I'm waiting on a call back from the electrician to let him check.

Power company says the line has been inspected and I'm in the ten day window for them coming out to turn power back on. Subdivision says the electrician submitted the paperwork to the Dept of Commerce to have the line inspected but hasn't heard back yet. So I don't know wtf is actually going on.

My copy of Stephen King's ELEVATION came today and...I was not prepared for how wee it is. I'm used to his novellas being published in collected form. First novella I've bought outright. It's smol.

I'm trying not to be completely pissed off at my lack of electricity situation but I'm starting to be completely pissed off. Wednesday will be 3 weeks without power, could potentially be a month or better when all is said & done. The line is fixed! Give me back my power!

Called the power company again. Friday I was told it could be 10 business days from the date of shutoff. Which would make them be here by Wednesday night. Today I was told 10 business days from date the inspection was sent in. Which could be two more fucking weeks from today. Fucking hell.
