If you wanted to decrease the cost of homes, one thing you wouldn’t do is put a flat tariff on your main source of timber.

I don’t know that folks realize just how much of the US building supplies come from Canada. Significant amounts of concrete and timber used in the US are from Canada (30-35% each). This will be as devastating to the housing market as the pandemic. FAFO, unfortunately.

I just don't have words. This one hits very close to home, but my kids are safe. I heart goes out to everyone impacted. As a parent, I'm absolutely furious that this keeps happening over and over again and we do nothing but make excuses and offer thoughts and prayers. Keep them and fix it.
