We're conscious that we haven't been able to do very many shows for our 20th anniversary and a lot of you will have missed out on a chance to see us this month. Fortunately, we captured She Can Do What She Wants (Live at the Fire Station) in Sunderland. Watch the full vid here:

It’s release day for the 20th anniversary expanded reissue of our self-titled debut album. I think we can be forgiven a rare moment to look back over our shoulders at 20 years of Field Music music. Find it at your local indie shop -

The 20th anniversary expanded reissue of our debut album hits the shops this Friday (and it's only two and a half weeks until we head out to play all this old stuff live). Here's some high-grade nerdery to get you in the mood.

If we ever ask people to pay to see us soundcheck, or act as if watching a soundcheck is a special treat, please give me a quick, but firm slap. SOUNDCHECKS ARE BORING.

When our album Plumb was on the
#mercuryprize
list in 2012, we were only allocated two seats at the ceremony. Additional seats cost £400+VAT iirc so, just to have Kev and Andrew, our actual band members, at the table with us would have cost more than the entire recording budget for the album.

Jazz chat time. Miles Davis' post-Coltrane, pre-Shorter era is hugely underrated. This record is sensational (as are the live recordings with George Coleman on tenor).

We've been figuring out how to play those old songs again, ready for our 3 shows in November. Ahead of that we invited a few friends along to our local to witness us bash through some oldies. watch If Only The Moon Were Up (Locked-in at The Bridge Hotel Vaults) right now.

Another one of those mad schemes where everything that makes an area desirable from a developer's point of view is threatened by their development. A few days left to let them know that this is a terrible idea.

August 2025 marks twenty years since the release of Field Music's self-titled debut album. To celebrate this momentous and terrifying anniversary, we’re reconvening the original Field Music trio for three special shows playing songs from that first, formative incarnation of the band.
