Still can't believe we got to see the premiere run of 'The Greatest Showman: The Musical' in little Bristol. We are unapologetic musical fans in our house, so the excitement about this stage adaptation was through the roof. Was worried it would disappoint, but oh my it did not! Just incredible! 🤩

Advice please! We'll soon release a public version of the Early Childhood Inhibitory Touchscreen Task. It's my birthday today. I'm feeling rather sad because I lost my dad last weekend. February seems to be the month where I lose loved ones - Tilly nearly 15 years ago and now my dad. I am trying to make some sense of it, but the truth is this kind of shit just happens and somehow we live through it.

I have not really felt able to share this the last couple of days. On Sunday my dad died suddenly and unexpectedly from a burst aorta. I'm still reeling from it. Next week I am going to Denmark for his funeral. I miss him terribly.

Manuscript rejection and a very negative review today. This reviewer had only negative things to say about our work. Reviews like that still hurt, but at this stage of my career I hate even more that the first author (their first paper) had to experience this. Academia is so harsh sometimes.

It's honestly a bit hard to focus on work - every morning when I turn the radio on to listen to the news, it's just Trump, Trump, Trump and his imperialist, thieving and bullying agenda. I try to block it out, but it keeps intruding as a constant worry at the back of my mind.

Happy New Year all! We have a little tradition in my family of cooking and eating what we most desire on New Year’s Eve. Most years this involves smoked salmon for starter, Hainanese chicken for main course, and Danish kransekage for dessert. I honestly can’t think of anything much better to eat! ☺️

Daughter and I spent the whole day making these gluten-free chocolate & caramel eclairs. It was a major effort!

In the BBC News this morning they mentioned (in connection with the Charlie Kirk assassination) that at the University of Utah people are allowed to carry guns. This just blows my mind. If I saw somebody with a gun in my university, I would run/hide and call the police!
