I've been getting a lot of spammers messaging me via my website contact form offering marketing services. The first time I respond, I politely decline. But when they reach back and ask what kind of writing I do? I tell them "You reached out to me via my website. You should know that." UGH!!

Really frustrating when salespeople give discounts on rush jobs. Of course it's not the salespeople who have to drop everything and work OT to actually do the rush jobs. And then certain salespeople ALWAYS seem to have rush jobs.

POV: People who were not even born in the 80s can't really judge whether certain movies or TV shows present an appropriate portrayal of what it was like to be a teenager in the 80s. Yes? No? Feels like millennial-splaining a Gen Xer's experience to them?

I am having a terrible suspicion that not all of these poems are meant to be prose poems and that I have to completely rethink some of them.

Dang. Didn't get that residency I applied for.

Earlier this week, a guest editor emailed to accept 3 poems I submitted. BUT, after withdrawing them from the other journals the poems had been submitted to, I got an email from that guest editor today, saying his “time ran out” and he won’t be able to publish the poems after all.

Friday folly: trying to delete a comma that turns out to be a speck of dust on my laptop screen.
