Been watching people listening to music. Watching the crowd at Glastonbury singing along to Alanis Morissette, and watching people in a pub singing along to my friend’s duo singing timeless songs. Music has the power to transport people, move them, make them happy, help them escape. It’s magic.

The other day a social worker referred to me as an “informal carer” which left me feeling pretty undervalued. Today I talked to another carer/parent who the DSS is encouraging to seek work as a carer or he’ll lose benefits*. Without us there would be far far more strain on the Formal Care sector.

Have just been introduced to the music of Frank Turner at a gig in Lancaster Town Hall which raised thousands of pounds for the Citizens Advice Bureau. I can’t believe they rely on donations to keep going. I also can’t believe that some people will go to a gig and TALK ALL THE FUCKING WAY THROUGH IT
