There are many Rust crates in this world, Bilbo Baggins, and none of them should be used lightly.

This has now increased 7.8x and 4.6x speedups!

Good stuff landing soon! Bombadil fixed timeouts are going away, in favor of a dynamic strategy that monitors DOM and network activity, in order to react as quickly as possible and not waste time just sitting around. Quick measurements show 2-4x speedups in terms of actions per second.

I declare myself beaten. Fuzzing btop again and was perplexed why the fuzzer sometimes terminated in the middle of a run. Turns out it used btop to kill itself...

bombadil-ltl is now dependency free (only `std`), and might be published to crates.io eventually: github.com/antithesishq... This enables other runtime monitoring use cases, like one contributor who used it in a game! I also want to build a new ltl-visualizer with it.

bombadil-terminal is now merged to main. Very experimental and up for big changes, but it runs and finds bugs! You can get the binary from GitHub Actions builds with some trickery, or wait for the next release.

npx @antithesishq/bombadil ... now does what you want! And installing the package of course also gives you the types for writing specs in TypeScript.

Is there any modern car that's not a giant wreck of badly integrated software? Today our Kia bricked itself: couldn't start the engine, couldn't lock it, couldn't open the trunk, and most annoyingly couldn't change gears, so the tow truck couldn't load it (without extra gear).

Bombadil found a new TodoMVC bug (not in the Quickstrom case study)! Not only a new instance of a bug, but a new type.

I've developed somewhat of an obsession with LTL error messages, and Bombadil is the outlet. Here's a bug in one of the TodoMVC apps, where changing filters while having a pending item clears the input, throwing away the pending text. The error message isn't perfect but it's a huge improvement.

Bombadil 0.3.2 is out, with support for importing local modules and external packages, and importing JSON, text, and binary files!

UPDATE: After 18 months of sitting out a noncompete, I'm finally back working on generative testing. Not only that, I'm joining @antithesis.com next week, and I can't wait to build testing technology with such a deeply technical and committed group. Everything in its right place.

Fireplace floor protector progress! Something covering the floor cuts remaining, and of course some firewood. The finish got a little weird because of dust where I painted, but meh. The cutouts turned out so good that I didn't need to seal against the blocks. Really fun project overall!
