It should be noted that the original person who said this is @mollycrabapple.bsky.social - artist and activist. I find it odd that her name got cropped out of the original screenshot (from an article in LA Times, btw) and the uncredited version is the one that makes the viral rounds.

Word of advice to anyone on here who reads indie comics/webcomics: Please let the author know you're enjoying their work every now and then. Once creators feel like it's pointless to continue, that's it. I know, I couldn't go back to my 1st series even if I wanted to now. My passion for it is dead
