Machinist! I adore its aesthetics so much and the general gameplay is endlessly satisfying to me. That being said, the AoE rotation needs *something* more than Auto Crossbow. Both the oGCDs are AoE now, so why not have it speed them up like Blazing Shot? Or any reason to press Flamethrower?

Right, since my brain is still on bit of a fashion-focused kick, I might as well share more of my Ala Mhigan Clothing, Armor & Traditional Fashion related headcanons. These won't be in any concrete order, but rather stream of consciousness. If folks have questions or like to hear more just ask!

It barely counts as a “lover,” but when Q’linn was a kid in Ala Mhigo he crushed hard on a young Maxima who stayed there with his family for a summer. Q’linn’s in a committed relationship when they meet again, and they both have good hunour about it - especially that his partner is another Garlean.

So far I’ve been filling my Tomodachi Life island with FFXIV OCs, but I’m tempted to throw Zenos in as some bizarre personal hell punishment where he is never more than a hundred metres from several WoLs but physically unable to fight any of them.

In the Eighth Umbral Calamity timeline, a short-lived relationship Erien had resulted in a daughter, Zara. An apocalypse is far from the easiest time to be a single parent, but as Zara grew and learned magic she insisted on helping her mother preserve the world's dwindling light however they could.

Q’linn is *technically* a MCH most of the time, just equipping different arms to suit the situation (gauntlets, gunblade, command tome etc.) He’s absolutely pulled the quick-switch before to surprise someone, also because I think it’s the coolest thing ever.

Based on their backgrounds, Q’linn would start in Golden Deer and Josephine in Black Eagles (though the latter likely transfers to GD). He could end up in Assassin or Sniper via Thief, while she branches to Dancer just like in FFXIV.

Q’linn’s nunh had him shadow him at a diplomatic summit when he was seven, and on the way explained the concept of hyur and ananta to him. When he was told neither had ears on the top of their head, Q’linn immediately asked “so how do you talk to them?”

Maybe not at first, and maybe not for a while. But he has one now.

Q’linn goes in *expecting* to want to fight, but the later you are in his timeline the less he actually wants to do it. Post-DT they actually get along pretty well and have figured out a way to escape within twenty minutes. Erien lasts as long as it takes her to ask “hey do you wanna fight?”

In a friend’s detective noir AU, Q’linn and all his reflections are the staff of “Club Azem” - the hottest new venue in town with connections to the criminal underworld. It’s a fun vehicle to write Q’linn interacting with his counterparts that canon can’t give him.

Hildibrand strikes me as a guy who’s forgetful, but has a system to remind himself of things that’s completely incoherent to anyone else. He always says up the “Nashu’a nameday” reminder with time in advance, but it takes him until the last minute to remember what it was a reminder for.
