Seeing Hildy and Nashu is a breath of fresh air from Q’linn’s MSQ suffering, and all the WoLs love when their “yearly detective phase” comes around. Though the inspector was characteristically missing for Q’linn and Josie’s wedding, somehow a pair of shiny new monocles made it to the gift table.

Q’linn wasn’t present for the Arcadion raids, instead being done by Erien and a friend’s WoL, but I haven’t been able to shake the image of him, the Scions and the Danwservants watching it all on TV at the Tuliyollal palace. Koana testing the technology outside Everkeep or something like that.

Forge of Creation: Q’linn summons a bunch of machines in different civilisation’s styles to swarm the enemy, before finishing with a saber slash from the G-Warrior. He used it against Zeromus, where the pliable Darkness of the Void allowed him to temporarily invoke Creation magic.

Until very recently, Q’linn didn’t know that his birth mother was none of the nunh’s three wives, but a fourth woman kept secret since her passing. Also that his birthplace *technially* isn’t Gyr Abania, but Sharlayan.

Q’linn only calls his father Q’thamo or “the nunh,” whilst his three wives got Mother, Manne and Mama. “Father” has slipped out towards the Timbermaster once or twice. Erien’s parents get the classic Mum and Dad - it’s a little modern for the setting but I like the familiarity of it.

Q’linn’s aether is turquoise, seeming almost gaseous and rippling with Lightning like a stormcloud. Erien’s aether is a dark violet, its colour bleeding into any Fire magic she casts.

From his father grooming him to be the next nunh, to Emet-Selch to (a simulacrum of) Azem themselves, Q’linn has a *lot* of baggage with the word “legacy.” He would much prefer whatever he adds to the world be known for its own sake; he gets all the appreciation he needs from those he loves.

Q’linn is fluent with miqo’te Huntspeak and Ala Mhigan, knows a decent amount of Gobbiespeak and Dragonspeak, and is learning Garlean from his wife; all accrued naturally over his travels. Erien’s linguistics come more from academia; she speaks Old Sharlayan, Gelmorran, High Mhachi and Allagan.

“Pytheas created the namazu” is my favourite running joke in my lore. Venat had to badger Emet-Selch into not vetoing *one* of his concepts, which he allowed under the condition it wasn’t excessively dangerous. Pytheas may have overcompensated slightly.

The trial against Q’linn’s Lightwarden form, Thelema, drops a mini version of itself as a minion - a tiny white and gold tower with eyeball stalks, moving around on metal spider legs. The Extreme’s mount is a rideable Satellite Cannon from Machinist’s LB3.

Q'linn has ceruleum heaters in every room of the Ishgard estate, plus a tiny one he hides in his clothes. Erien's affinity for fire magic means she can set her body temp wherever she likes with a little focus, so she's always toasty warm. I like to imagine cats gravitate towards her.

All of Q’linn’s jobs use tech in some way; MNK had power gauntlets, SCH an Anima-controlled drone. For DT he picked up PCT as a way to learn Creation, guided by an Endless of Azem. After he was forced to seal them away, he made a new palette out of electrope powered by his own lightning aether.

Pytheas only got onto the Convocation at all via incredible luck and a connection with Venat, and the seat of Azem feels custom-made for them. That being said, I think their knack for Creation could see them on the seat of Lahabrea - no doubt with disastrous results.

Lyse, without a second thought. Raubahn can lead Ala Mhigo in her stead, but it’s generally weird how little her membership in the Scions is mentioned after she departs. Yes I *am* still annoyed we didn’t invite her to the disbanding party, why do you ask?
