Trainee Educational Psychologist in Ireland. These views are my own personal views.
Hope it's not a bad omen that I've started my TEP journey with a cold and a fever

Last few days before I start the doctorate course and I don't know what to do with myself. Definitely coming down with something though, great timing.

And just like that it's suddenly my last few days at work in England before moving back to Ireland to start the Doctorate in Child and Educational Psychology. To say it's a bag of mixed emotions is an understatement. Don't know where the time has gone.

What a fabulous day we have had with a lot of our ELSAs at our conference today. We wanted to shine a light on them and the amazing work they do throughout Wakefield and to remind them of how amazing, strong, and skilled they are. Real life everyday heros!!

Sunshine, walking, and good company. I might be working over the Easter holidays, but excited to work at a slower pace over the next two weeks

Would love to know more about education psychologists stance/view on the current 24 hour sleep out at Leinster House around the lack of suitable school spaces available in Ireland currently

Back to the drawing board I guess. Any suggestions on how to evaluate my personal statement or interview is much appreciated

Really looking forward to joining

later today. I feel like I'm in real need of having the space to explore gratitude with
@viola-jane.bsky.social
. I feel we get so caught up on the interview process and focusing on the failures that we forget the positive side of the process.

Volunteering for a bereavement charity once a week is a nice weekly reset and reminder of why I do my job. Made a mother quite emotional explaining this theory earlier. Always resonates with me

I normally have a pretty decent level of resilience, but after getting a no from my preferred university for the doctorate I am now questioning staying in this field. I know I can do the job, but there's only so much rejection you can take

Heard back from 2 out of 3 universities so far for the Doctorate. Somehow I manage to forget just how brutal this time of year is for those of us applying for a spot on the course. Something needs to change, I don't know how but something needs to give

Very excited and nervous about the week ahead. It's Day 1 of training our newest ELSA cohort on Tuesday, lots of school work, and anxious waiting to hear back from universities

Had a lovely but sad interaction with a young person today, who sat back in shock after I remembered their favourite hobby that she had told me in our previous session.By showing that I listened to her and shared a real interest in her life completely changed the trajectory of our session.

I love my job, but very ready for some fresh, Irish wind in my face. I know I'll be there 5mins and complain about it, but I love it really
