I wrote about how Tribes like the Cheyenne & Arapahoe refused govt issued beef rations as resistance strategy. Politics of refusal have long been used as an indictment of genocide policies. The media taunted the theft of Tribes by referring to Native resistance as "sulking allotment".

When it comes to my mention of the ration cutting, this isn't just a thread gushing about consumption of trauma. Because we can also talk about the politics of refusal. And how that can empower u in solidarity, like the boycotts.

Settlers aren't being held to binding terms they signed. It's evident in climate collapse, real estate hoarding housing, uncompensated labor, general all around non existent quality of life for working class. The genocide of colonialism is actively displacing & unaliving Indigenous ppls globally.

Failure to engage in good faith treaty relationships and using that as the bedrock for democracy is another reason why "everything is so transactional these days".

All these are reasons it's important for all settler "allies" to really do the work on their internalized classism / anti Indigenous mindsets. Anti Indigenous reclamation of memory works in direct collaboration with the rise of fascism.

Settlers who get defensive saying things like "it wasn't me or my ancestors" is an example of the blood / land / memory trope, and settlers self indigenizing, renewing settler innocence, reterritorializing the land on selective memory.

If you've never reported a rape and been horribly mishandled by the state and authorities, I do not think I or any other victim ever need you to ask why victims don't report. Go look up your state's backlogged rape kits before you speak to me on this subject.
