Ruby Central had previously stated it's actions were never meant to be permanent, and that it is trying to be conciliatory. If that's the case, why didn't Ruby Central decide to write it's report _with_ Andre? That'd have been a clear step towards bringing the community together. Not pulling apart.

To be honest I am getting to the point where I don’t want to continue being friends with people who collaborate with dhh, even though I love some rails core folks.

Which he has been trying to figure out for the last decade, while being a pillar of the Ruby community. The repeated publishing of emails and meeting notes, with wild interpretations, seem like attempted character assassination by @rubycentral.org and @searls.bsky.social. Hugely disappointing.

to me the biggest and most obvious unanswered question about the whole Ruby Gems situation is why did Shopify put such a strong deadline with hard conditions on Ruby Central. Until we have answers there I do not think we can have meaningful resolution and community healing.

Me: DHH is saying some kinda racist stuff, and he’s outright bullying people in PRs. Them: But look over here! André had a gap in his commit history! And he once got paid $150 / hour to do *open source*!!! Outrageous! 😲😲😲

The way that certain people in this community attack André, while turning a blind eye to DHH’s (objectively far worse) behaviour. It’s fucking disgraceful.

I continue to fund @hanamirb.org because I believe in @timriley.info as a leader who will create communities that welcome everyone, not just a select few. He, to me, represents the heart of Ruby and I am proud to support him and Hanami.

One thing I can say is this is the most fractured and unstable I've seen the Ruby community in 15+ years of participation. It feels like the future of Ruby is uncertain and that is _very_ bad for the language and ecosystem.
