Demetrios: The BIG Cynical Adventure Replastered (2022, PS5) Rating: 7/10 Reasonably enjoyable point-and-click. Navigation is quick and responsive. Puzzles are mostly straightforward, with a few tricky ones. Hints are plentiful. The humor never landed for me, but the dialogue reads pretty smoothly.

I tried a new (to me) piece of equipment at the gym today.

I’m seeing a lot of snark over “Shenmue 3 Enhanced”, but I for one am excited for this. Yes, it’s shocking how little the story progresses, but I loved the laid back vibes of this entry. The sense of place is fantastic (a signature of the series). Giving it some refinement may draw new players in.

Saga of Sins (2023, PS5) Rating: 7/10 The unique stained-glass aesthetic makes this one memorable. I love the vibe - entering peoples’ minds to rid them of their sins. Thematically like “Alundra” but plays like “Castlevania”. Nice variety of gameplay & level design - decently challenging at times.

I hope this dude is still living his best life and gaming as much as he wants! He can come visit us whenever he needs a safe place to get away and unwind!

Astro Bot (2024, PS5) Rating: 10/10 A true joy to play from start to finish. The textures, details, and colors are incredible. Loads of secrets and optional content. It’s a true love letter to video games, and is meta in a way I’ve not really seen before in gaming. Imaginative, satisfying, and fun.

I was so scared but also aroused when I walked by this building in Chicago. 😳

Went to the gym at 7pm instead of my usual 5am, as an experiment.. here are my findings: 7pm Pros / Cons ✅ MUCH better eye candy 🥵🔥💪🏻 ⛔️ Groups of boys hogging equipment ⛔️ Phone zombies hogging equipment ⛔️ Feeling more self-conscious ⛔️ Crowded, noisy, hard to focus I’ll stick to my 5am routine.

Endling: Extinction is Forever (2022, PS5) Rating: 6.5/10 This winner of 2022’s Game Beyond BAFTA has a nice art style and pretty music, but failed to wow me. It can feel repetitive, and its attempts to tell a wordless story don’t quite translate in some ways. It was ok, but I hoped for more.

Balatro (2024, Switch) Rating: 8.5/10 Probably won’t play this much, but I mean that as a compliment. It’s relatively easy to learn, but has a surprising amount of depth, too. Addicting and satisfying. But devoting hours to games with no story or end feels like a time-suck, so I just want a taste.

Animal Well (2024, Switch) Rating: 9.5/10 Utterly fantastic. Such a unique art style and color palette, and so spooky at times. A perilous journey with some demanding platforming. Wish I could give it a 10/10 but there are 2 extremely difficult sequences that zapped some joy. Still, it’s a marvel.
