🍻 As part of my work supporting publicans in Ely & East Cambridgeshire, I met with Greene King in Westminster to discuss the vital role pubs play in our communities and raise concerns from the Publicans Network meeting. 🚨 The government must urgently cut business rates to help protect our pubs.

It was a privilege to visit EACH Hospice, Milton. From hydrotherapy to quiet spaces, the facilities are deeply compassionate and thoughtfully designed. Despite their vital work, EACH receives just 15% of its funding from government. We must do more to support hospices like this.

⚽ It was great to meet the Football Foundation in Westminster recently, to hear about exciting projects planned for Ely & East Cambridgeshire. 🦁 With the women’s game growing stronger than ever, it was a real pleasure to meet Lioness Lucy Bronze and talk about how we can maintain this momentum.

🚓Today, as part of National Rural Crime Action Week, I joined Cambridgeshire’s Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT). RCAT does outstanding work on the ground, but they need proper funding to deliver the comprehensive support our communities deserve.

This week I led a debate on supporting neurodivergent people into employment. I was proud to highlight the work of brilliant businesses in Ely & East Cambridgeshire and I urged the government to act- we must do more to help neurodivergent people and those with learning difficulties into employment.

⚧️ As a Liberal Democrat, I stand with LGBTQ+ people and reject all discrimination. Trans women are women, trans men are men, and non-binary people are valid. I’m proud to sign Lisa Smart MP’s letter urging the Minister to ensure the EHRC's Code of Conduct is subject to full parliamentary scrutiny.

🚓 I recently met with the Police Federation to discuss the challenges facing officers in Ely & East Cambridgeshire. 👮‍♀️ I’m committed to working closely with officers to ensure they have the resources and backing they need to keep our communities safe.

📣 TODAY I raised constituent concerns about Sunnica Solar Farm at Prime Minister's Questions. I asked the Prime Minister to commit to a Land Use Framework, which would help balance the competing demands on land for agriculture, housing, energy and nature restoration.

🧑‍🌾Across Ely & East Cambridgeshire, I’ve met with farmers to hear directly about the challenges they face and the support they need. 🚜 Farming is at the heart of our local economy and our environment — and I’m proud to stand with our farmers this #BackBritishFarmingDay and every day.

🌱 Great to visit G’s Group last week and see the beetroot harvest in action! 🚜 From soil to supermarket, it’s encouraging to see the care and innovation that goes into growing our food. Thanks to the team for showing me around and sharing the challenges and opportunities facing our local growers.

🌱 Chalk streams are important parts of our biodiversity - but they're under threat from climate change. 📢 Last week, I raised this in parliament, urging the government to make time for a debate on how to protect our precious chalk streams and successfully secured an update from the Minister.

🚆 Ely Junction is not just a local bottleneck - it's a national priority. 🚆 The Government's failure to fund the Ely junction upgrade in the recent Spending Review is a serious oversight. I’ve written to the Secretary of State urging him to meet with me to discuss this directly.

Great to meet with the team at PocDoc last week to explore how their innovative smartphone-based technology is transforming cardiovascular disease screening — all while proudly expanding their R&D and operations hub right here in Ely and East Cambridgeshire.

🚁 On Tuesday, I visited the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) to hear about their future plans as they prepare to relocate to a new site. EAAA provides life-saving support to 3.2 million people across our region. I will keep championing their vital work and pushing for the resources they need.
