New report from myself and @kmilb.bsky.social for @abundance-org.bsky.social on the need for social control of water. A contribution thinking about the future of Thames Water, and what we shoulf be organising for.

A report out today from @bertrussell.bsky.social and I for @abundance-org.bsky.social advocating for social control of the failed privatised water companies via democratic governance. We look at, and learn the lessons from, four different attempts to reorganise water services along these lines.

Thames Water might soon be brought into a Special Administration Regime, but public ownership alone won’t fix a system rigged for private profit. Without real social control, we risk repeating the same mistakes.
