tbh I've come to resent the "shorter games with worse graphics" mantra because I feel most people saying it never stand by it. What they want isn't a shorter game with worse graphics, what they want is to experience a novel piece of art, and for the conditions for that novel art to exist.

a thing i think is very fun & cute in games is how they make the player feel in danger. How running into a big scary enemy in Elden Ring can make you do a little scream the same way running into an over-level enemy in final fantasy 6 might despite the two games playing extremely different

There's a trend with certain types of games to have the word "cozy" in the title, which is also descriptive of the vibes of the game. I think other games should take this approach. "Silent Scary Hill," "Amnesia the spooky descent," "Resident Evil Scary Zombies"
