We don't have to look at The Handmaid's Tale to understand how concerning it is for a nation, which refuses to protect and support children, to deploy women's wombs as a unit of labor or gross national product. We can look at Black slave women whose bodies were directly tied to the slave market.

The attacks on veterans while using them as props for bullying is wild.

I don’t know but…destroying k-12 public education and the humanities in higher education while using the JFK files as some sort of distractor—for people taught not to value history or “liberals” seems quite idiotic.

Imagine what we’d learn about Black people if they didn’t fear our history so much. Imagine what we’d learn about colonizers if they didn’t lie so much about theirs. Maniacally erasing Black histories is telling.

The conservative idea of small government has always meant a few people controlling everyone else. Such a model is necessarily bigoted. It’s rooted in the ridiculous bias that only a few select people have what it takes + are destined to rule. Descendants of slavery could’ve told you that.

The latest crazy just proves what we all know. They are discussing everything on Signal to avoid any discovery or FOIA or archival laws. So illegal but here we are.

I hope folks are realizing that those, namely politicians, billionaires (and billionaire adjacents), + corporations, claiming to be against “that woke stuff” are against you. Yes. All of you and all the things you need to best survive. Wokeness is insisting on a more just society for all.

When people say they want the “real” republicans back or that they can’t wait for them to get back to “normal” what do they mean? This is the real party and normal. This is exactly what they’ve fought for + who they’ve wanted to be for decades. Please stop playing in our faces w/the shock narrative.

Something to think about

This part. The framing of DEI alone is trash. The only true reading is white fear of black excellence; white mediocrity masking as superiority thus requiring black erasure; white racism erasing black resilience and heroism; white fear of a black planet; white supremacist insecurity; and so on.

To so willingly and happily repeat the most vile and demonic parts of history, to learn absolutely nothing from them, to have no shame about them, speaks to the utter sickness of this nation.

If, when this is all over, America doesn’t face its racist, sexist, classist, ableist, and otherwise demons and demonic histories, and completely turn things around through real recognition and reconciliation, it gets the future it deserves.

It’s safe to say we’re living in a demonarchy. We have an administration that salivates over causing harm and tries to top itself everyday. What must it mean to be filled with such venom? May the majority of us never know but rise together and resist and win.
