Checked w/Jake and apparently multiple colorways on the same sock hits his tism hard in a bad way. So just Santa Suit, got it. Glad I asked. He discovered the term AuDDtism the other day and was absolutely giddy at how perfect it is. I agree.

I’m enjoying the Emma’s Yarn so much that I revisited the yarns we picked up on that trip. Since I think I’m going to use Carter’s navy for Jake’s toes, I think I’ll make Carter’s socks after these. The purple on the far rt next to the navy is his. Phaja’s 2 colors are next to that.

2 days down, 1 to go. I’m so looking forward to a 4 day weekend where I’m only going out once, on Saturday, to gather with all of my kids for a meal to give thanks. We’re each bringing part of the meal so no one has to do too much. I’m hoping to get lots of rest and knitting in over these 4 days.

Finished the Lost Bride Trilogy. Didn’t realize that book 3 just came out last week. I guess that’s why it landed on my radar. Overall, I’d give it 6/10. The 1st book was the best and I’d give that one an 8. Had to go through all 3 to see how it ended but it could’ve been 1 book.

When we visited Four Purls Carter picked out a purple colorway (Down the Rabbit Hole) and Navy Blazer for accents. I think I’m going to use a little bit of that navy for the toes of Jake’s Santa Suit socks. It’s the same yarn base and should be perfect.

Yay! I’m getting a 3% raise! Which is shit compared to inflation and the rise in my healthcare costs. Especially considering getting a great review. But, it beats the fuck out of the big fat nothing we didn’t get last year so I’m glad they got our expectations down on the ground.

Gotta love when you give yourself a good self review and your manager’s review of you is even better. I hope I do a good job every day. I think I do, but I might be a bit biased. It’s so nice to hear or read it directly. I haz a happy. Now I just hope I get a raise to go with that review…

Yesterday Jake changed my sheets and for the first time this season put the flannels on. Then he put a bigger extra blanket on top instead of the lightweight throw I’d been using. Leo harassed me this morning until I let him under the covers. He’s still there. #TisTheSeason

Sometimes staying caught up on the temp project can be a pain. After my dad died and I waited to figure out and obtain the yarn I ended up adding to mark both the day he passed and the day of his memorial service, catching up was a challenge. But mostly, it’s a daily joy to add two simple rows.

A little over a year ago I was hoping to do a lot of colorwork on socks. I had loved Malabrigo Mecha and Mechita so without ever trying their sock yarn (no, not impulsive at all), I bought a ton of colors of their sock yarn. Turns out I hate their sock yarn for socks.

The reasons I chose Lichen & Lace as the yarn for the 2026 Temperature Project #2026TP are first, she offers mini skeins without a huge markup (a full skein 100 g costs $27, a 20 g mini costs $6); second, the colors are gorgeous and blend so well; and third, the scrumptious softness.

Note, this isn’t the final version but I wanted to repost for those who missed it. I’ll pin it again (not sure when the pin dropped but whatever).

Here’s the #2025TempShawl on my desk. It’s all scrunched up but you get the idea. Next year the color changes will make so much more sense and I’ll use 17 colors instead of just 10.

Can’t believe I made it through this week. My sleep schedule got so screwed up that I didn’t start work on Mon until after 11 and then scheduled late arrivals of 10 and 9 Tues and Wed just to work myself back to normal. Only took 2 weeks for the time change to catch up to me and kick my ass.

Our holiday chocolate from @jenkinsemporium.bsky.social arrived earlier this week. Can’t wait till the kids try it!!
