An preliminary surgery interns salary makes it very hard to put forth enough applications to make sure he has an excellent chance of matching to a full categorical program (yes, one has to reapply/PAY to apply to be a resident doctor).

How do I prevent 3am calls about medications that are ordered already? I got a call about Xanax but the order was already in for 7 hours… and when I brought that to the nurses attention: oops sorry. This has occurred at least 5 times

Why do I keep supporting Jonathan? Well, not everyone has relatives that can help. I did my degree late in life and had worked for years, so I had assets, credit score/access to credit - he does not. It is an impossible goal without some form of assistance. Residency apps cost me $2100/yr (int grad)

Third lap appedectomy of the night ✅

I have watched Jonathan for several years continue despite great odds against him. He keeps putting one foot in front of the other. He keeps working hard. I will be presenting a video abstract on the single port robotic assisted transvesical bladder diverticulectomy which allows the surgeon to avoid nerve damage, have direct visualization of the diverticula and has a decreased recovery period.

New goal to help with ERAS which is the resident application service. He needs to reapply to Urology. His current wage as a preliminary surgical resident is not enough to cover this huge expense. Please consider helping him. I know many helped get him get to grad and housed. He’s doing what he can.
