I had to do my annual blood work and urine sample today, NPO (no food for eight hours beforehand). It was bad enough that the first appointment I could get was 11:40 am, but then they didn't call me in until 2:00! I felt like crap for most of the day. Luckily there was a Baker's next door.

Unlike most dragonfruit, the pitaya has umpteen tufts of thorns on the fruit as it grows, so I've been nervous about harvesting this one. Turns out that, when the fruit is fully ripe, you can just wipe the thorns off easily!
