Reuben Dip - 1 lb. thick-cut pastrami or corned beef, chopped - 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, chopped - 32 oz. sauerkraut, fully drained - 16 oz. cream cheese, cubed - 1 cup Thousand Island dressing Mix, cook 90 min. in slow cooker set on high. Stir occasionally. Serve with crackers or tortilla chips.

After 57 years of life and several back exams and x-rays, a physician finally determined today that I have some degree of spina bifida. It's never really been symptomatic, but it's almost certainly aggravating my current severe back pain. Now to determine a course of action.

Drummer Joe Morello, who was legally blind, and bassist Eugene Wright masterfully held the complex rhythm together. An all-time classic.

Not only did LA Kings Sled Hockey sweep their tier at Nationals, 17-year-old Aaron Rondeau stopped every shot in every game and was ranked as the #1 goaltender among ALL adult teams in the tournament. See you in September!

I had to do my annual blood work and urine sample today, NPO (no food for eight hours beforehand). It was bad enough that the first appointment I could get was 11:40 am, but then they didn't call me in until 2:00! I felt like crap for most of the day. Luckily there was a Baker's next door.

Unlike most dragonfruit, the pitaya has umpteen tufts of thorns on the fruit as it grows, so I've been nervous about harvesting this one. Turns out that, when the fruit is fully ripe, you can just wipe the thorns off easily!

I find this troubling. Yes, maybe Lively filing a claim under California law for something that happened in NJ might have been a technical misstep, but basically determining that an independent contractor can be harassed because she's not an employee is bullshit. Thoughts?

Garden tip: if you grow radishes, the young, green seed pods are delicious on their own. Pick them before they get woody. This is a salad of radish pods, cherry tomatoes, Persian cucumber, oregano, nigella seeds, olive oil, and red wine vinegar.
