I love the Far Cry games. If I had infinite resources to create a live action adaptation, I'd have gone for an anthology format similar to Fargo. Wildly different stories from year to year. That FX is actually doing this with the brilliant Noah Hawley and Rob Mac is shockingly exciting.

Just noticed Fandango at Home is finally selling some of the Apple TV original movies. Grabbed GREYHOUND, FINCH, THE TRAGEDY OF MACBETH, and TETRIS for cheap in a FanFlix sale.

Finally got around to BALLERINA. Loved it! Ana is amazing, of course, but I was surprised to find it had the best story of the franchise outside of the original JW. I mean, I dig the hell out of 2-4, but they're basically two hours of story dragged over six hours of action. Flamethrower fight!

Started my new Star Trek project tonight... going to watch all of the OG, TNG, and then maybe more if I'm still feeling it. Have never seen it all, so should hopefully be a good time.

The only downside to my 6pm-6am work schedule is I never really interact with anyone on the old social media machine anymore. One upside, though, is that I never really interact with social media anymore.

I want to meet her parents. They named their daughter (who is fantastic in OBAA) after quite literally my two favorite things -- Batman Forever and Toy Story. Those were the first two movies I ever loved. I bet they're cool people!

Well, used some Cinemark rewards to get myself a ticket for the new AVATAR the Tuesday after release. XD screen, 3D, popcorn and drink. Only ended up having to pay $15 out of pocket.

As someone who would cover my eyes to block out painful car headlights even when I was a child in the 90s, I can't even describe what a nightmare it is for me driving at night now. If I didn't work night shift I'd simply never go out after dark again. My blue eyes weren't made for this shit.

Finally watching one of my big blind spots, THE TWO JAKES. I remember going crazy for CHINATOWN when I discovered it in high school and have seen it a dozen times. I just bizarrely didn't even know this movie existed until a decade or so ago and then I waited for the 4K.

This was an all-time classic Weekend Update. Had as much fun with everything as I'm sure NBC would allow (and probably then some).

Well, that's that. Beautiful game. Improved on basically all aspects of its predecessor, particularly in the story department.

I'm sure the fact that he's Guillermo del Toro helped make this happen, but I was pleasantly surprised to see a 45-minute behind the scenes doc alongside FRANKENSTEIN on Netflix. Here's hoping it gets the Criterion treatment like PINOCCHIO, as well. Wish they'd give other directors these perks.
