here's one of the things i love so much about post-timeskip claude (and part of why hopes claude will never work for me): he has experienced the necessary tragedy of growing up and realizing you've been naive. it's a hard stage of life but an important one and i think he's more interesting for it

linclaude are sooo homophrosyne. like i don't think an odyssey au would quite work for them but they are def on the odysseus & penelope type shit. same wavelength, thoughts and feelings completely attuned, true love is real and they're inventing it

shoutout to ao3 for changing the "beta" to say "omega" on april fool's and then fully removing it the very next day as they exit open beta after almost 16 and a half years. hysterical way to close out the beta

put together a 1000 word outline for an academy phase linclaude + byleth & jeralt fic. fingers crossed this means a miracle happens and i actually Write The Fic. i had to comb the timeline and chapter scripts SO much to get things in order....everyone pls clap for how brave i am

my gf just described claude as "a kleptomaniac but for information" and it's one of my favorite ways I've ever heard him described

edelgard and dimitri dream of a world without injustice. claude dreams of a world where people are kind. there is significant overlap but the motivations are vastly different in a way that's kinda baffling on a meta level

this to say, claude is a fundamentally optimistic character who has pinned his future on plans for a better, kinder world. he's not all jokes and he's also not all political scheming. he's a dreamer above all else and i think that's broadly seen as less interesting which is a shame

here's the thing about claude. he has layers, like perhaps an onion or parfait. first there is the carefree mask. under that he is running twenty scenarios at all times. under that he is the most stressed guy of ever (important that the scenarios & stress are on different layers). (1/2)
