I picked up Mega Man: Showdown Special #1 today for Free Comic Book Day. Overall, a pretty fun story that takes place during MM7. This makes me wish that we got more Proto Man/Bass fights, since that happens pretty rarely, if ever, in the Classic series.

Jack in! MegaMan, Execute! The Mega Man Battle Network Navi Emblems but in the style of graffiti has such awesome aura.

The final game in the Wizards & Warriors franchise goes in a different direction, being more of a Metroidvania. Much of this game is spent exploring the world to pass "tests" to join guilds and gain new abilities to explore previous areas. It's a neat idea that makes this game stand out.

One neat thing that the /r/MegaMan Discord does is have what we call Reward Roles. For the recent Legacy Collections and 11, if you obtain all of the achievements in the game (Classic LC1/LC2 have different requirements since they don't have achievement lists on Switch), you get a special role.

Inti Creates's newest game is "what if we brought back a dead mobile game and turned it into ActRaiser?" Considering ActRaiser is one of my favorite video games ever, I had very high hopes for this one and sadly, Kingdom's Return does not stick the landing.

Chicago is breaking ground on the Red Line Extension (RLE) today. RLE is a 5.5-mile extension of the existing L line to the south, with 4 new stations. The elevated/at grade line will cost $5.7 billion and is expected to eventually serve 41,500 daily trips.

Update: I received word that Inti Creates patched this on PS5 at least, hopefully this can be rolled out to other platforms soon as well.

Normally, I wait until after I beat a game to give my thoughts, but I have to give a PSA for anyone interested in @inticreates.bsky.social's latest game: Kingdom's Return: Time Eating Fruit and the Ancient Monster. I'd advise holding off on getting the game for now due to massive technical issues.

This free DLC adds a few songs from across the Battle Network series into Star Fore Legacy Collection, generally following the formula of battle song, boss theme, victory theme, and network theme. That said, the addition of BN4.5 and BN5 Double Team DS music was really cool!

I forgot to post this earlier, whoops! For USD $3, this is a fun addition that adds Sonia and Luna to the main menu as navigators in addition to Geo from the base game (and Geo in Casual Wear & Mega if you pre-ordered). Super not necessary, but not a horrible way to spend $3.

Please tell me one of these two hints is a Journey to Silius revival, that's my dream remake and I would be over the moon happy if Sunsoft really is bringing back one of my favorite games.

Credit where credit is due, I enjoyed Wizards & Warriors X moreso than W&W II, but it I still think it misses the identity the first game had. X has more linear level design with a brutal difficulty curve (the amount of jumps that are barely possible is pretty nuts). It's tough to recommend this one

As mentioned yesterday, I finished up with Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection, and that also means I got all 40 achievements ("Awards" in-game). Overall, this was significantly less frustrating than BNLC's two volumes, especially because of the encounter toggles.

Capcom shot for the moon with SFLC and landed among the stars. This is the best Legacy Collection of them all, with a bevy of new features that make these games even more enjoyable, from the encounter toggles to the inclusion of all of the download cards, the return of online battles, and more!

Already played these three via Namco Museum Archives. Mendel Palace is a surprisingly fun puzzle game but you’re much better off playing the Arcade versions of Pac-Man and Tower of Druaga (and mostly Pac-Man…I don’t like Tower of Druaga sadly)

Tonight, I took the final DC Streetcar run 🫡 This streetcar could and should have been so much more. The original 8 line system was ambitious, but building a 2 mile minimum viable segment with very few dedicated lanes meant it was kneecapped before it really started. RIP DC Streetcar, 2016-2026.

Fun ride to Munster / Dyer station. As you might expect, there are lots of rail fans onboard. Heading north back to Hammond Gateway Station, and then onto Millennium Station. Ryan, the operator, says it’s great to see this project come to fruition. 👍

Admittedly Bob-Omb Blast is probably my least favorite Battle Mode variant in Mario Kart but adding it to World to flesh out its Battle Mode is a solid play. I hope that consider more options such as adjusting the timer and more modes such as Shine Thief or Renegade Roundup next.

Wonder is one of my personal favorite 2D Platformers, and this DLC elevated it to new heights. The number one thing this addresses is the main complaint I had with the base game: the terrible boss fights. All 7 Koopaling fights absolutely rule. They're creative, fun, and sometimes a tad challenging.

Happy birthday to the Washington Metro, which opened 50 years ago today with service on 4.6 mi of Red Line between Rhode Is. Ave & Farragut N. System now serves 130 mi. The DC Metro shows that, with good planning & enough investment, the public sector can succeed & build something extraordinary.
