This is a surprise. Klonoa Empire of Dreams is a pretty solid 2D 16-bit interpretation of the Klonoa games (this is not a demake either! It's a different game!) I've never played any of the Mr. Driller games besides trying the demo of Drill Land once, so I'm curious to try 2 out.

After playing Ragebound, I wanted to go back and play this oddity of a game in the 2D Ninja Gaiden saga, and I came away super disappointed. Some of the most important elements of what made this series unique are just gone, from the cutscenes to the fast-paced movement; Shadow feels average at best.

What is it with video games going to space recently? Betweeen Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2, Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection, and Suika Game Planet, it's as if multiple developers just decided "You know what would be awesome? SPACE!" 🌌

Oh heck yes, Super Mario Galaxy 2 has one of my favorite video game soundtracks ever (shout-outs to Hightail Falls Galaxy and Puzzle Plank Galaxy)

Omni-directional movement (because you ride on a hoverbike) in an FPS game is a pretty unique idea and gives the game a vibe that hues as close to something such as Asteroids as it does a more traditional FPS. Forsaken 64 is fun but it's a little too easy to get disoriented due to the level design.

The original Chibi-Robo is a really unique 3D Platformer with a heavy emphasis on collectathon gameplay and meter management. I had an absolute blast exploring the home of the Sandersons, getting to know all of the wacky characters, and doing a whole host of sidequests and minigames.

I'm curious how many people are about to learn that Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is the first official release of Mega Man Star Force 3 in Europe! The original release of Star Force 3 came out on November 13, 2008 in Japan and June 30, 2009 in North America, but it never came out in Europe

Wow, this DLC is so incredibly mid that it shocks me that it looked as good as it did in the Direct. There are two main components to this DLC, DK Island (which is pretty garbage) and Emerald Rush (which is ok). Then there's the secret third component, which i'll get to.

Happy 40th Anniversary to my second-favorite media franchise of all time, behind Mega Man: Super Mario. The first video game I ever played (and beat!) was Super Mario 64, and I've never stopped loving this series. Here's to many more years of platforming, kart racing, and all of the other stuff.

Tomodachi Life is one of my favorite 3DS games so although we didn't see too much that was *new* here, it's great to at least see the release window narrowed down.

Ooh i'm gonna be honest, I did not like Yoshi's Story at all, so a spiritual successor to that game is going to need to convince me quite a bit to be on board with this. I'll go in with an open mind, but I hope this addresses some of the core issues with Story.

This was easy to see coming, but this looks really fun! Coin Battle in NSMB Wii & U are both super underrated and this looks like an even larger expansion on the versus modes from those games.

Oh this looks EXCELLENT! Mario Tennis Aces is one of my favorite Mario Sports games and this looks like it captures that exact same energy. I hope you can still trick around to build meter like in the first Aces because that was the best part. Also Baby Waluigi XD

$40 for both games is pretty nuts but tbh ($70 in the bundle), but 4K Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 on Switch 2 and the return of Galaxy 2 is a bit too enticing to pass up.

It is VERY odd that this was not in the American/European Nintendo Directs (did Nintendo or Capcom think it was too niche for us?) However, it is fantastic to see Star Force back, I hope people are ready for some of the best Mega Man stories and lightning fast gameplay (and online is back too!)

Oxford's Congestion Charge approved at Cabinet today! I think this is the first UK one for 20 years - London and Durham being the other two cities with them. Looking forward to faster buses and more bus routes, fewer private cars and therefore being able to re-do crossings to favour pedestrians!

Pac-Man World is a charming 3D Platformer that doesn't necessarily excel in anything, but manages to provide a few fun hours of platforming challenge regardless. My biggest complaint is that the depth perception can be pretty awful at times which has caused me to miss quite a few jumps.

One of my favorite aspects of Mini Metro and Mini Motorways (transportation-themed puzzle games) is the spread of cities around the world that @dinopoloclub.bsky.social chose for levels. There's a diverse set of cities from all 6 inhabited continents, something many similar games fail to achieve.

I prefer the first game's soundtrack but Lost Age's soundtrack absolutely rules too.

This may seem like an unwise choice until you read that the alternative proposed is *15 minute service* on Metrolink between Los Angeles and Rancho Cucamonga, which is a much better investment than a duplicative light rail line (which is already the longest light rail line in the world!).

If you're a newcomer and never played these games before, Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced is the definitive version of all three games and well worth the price of admission. If you're a hardcore fan who wants to listen to the audio dramas translated for the first time, it is also worth it.

Ninjago Dragons Rising Season 3 Part 2 came out today, and...it was decent. Honestly, I don't think Season 3 hits the stellar heights that Seasons 1 and 2 hit, but the conclusion of the season was fun and had an interesting premise.

It took me a long time to finish this one but holy moly Legend of the Network absolutely rules. This is, no joke, one of the best stories in the entire Mega Man SERIES as a whole. It weaves together plotlines not just from this game but Phantom of the Network and even some of the mainline games.

Following in the footsteps of Mega Man 11 and Sonic Mania, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound takes a 2D Action game franchise that I absolutely love, turns it on its head, and produces some of the most electrifying and exhilarating action I have ever seen. Ragebound is an absolute masterpiece.

Shadow Labyrinth mixes Pac-Man, Metroidvanias, and a dark, eerie atmosphere to create a pretty unique experience that succeeds more often than it does not, but unfortunately comes with some glaring issues that prevent this game from being exceptional.
