Holy cow these levels are insane. This DLC pack might as well be the Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels of Rayman 1. I thought the base game was tough, but this kicked up to a notch I previously thought impossible. These 24 levels are not for the faint of heart...nor are they particularly good...

Shockingly, i've actually beaten this game! A long time ago, I promised a friend I would play one Pokemon game to give the series a try, and XD was that game. I actually liked the game a decent amount, but admittedly not enough to continue playing other games in the series (besides the ones on NSO)

Correct me if i'm wrong but i'm reasonably confident that this is the same game as the PlayStation version with the slight caveat that one level (Bongo Hills) is different, and a handful of cages shifted location. I would rather just play the PS1 version tbh.

In general, Rayman 1's Jaguar version is a little easier, with fewer attacks from the bosses, tighter controls, and a radically different design for the final level and boss against Mr. Dark. I still don't love Rayman 1, but it was cool to see these changes.

Mario Tennis Aces on Switch 1 is my favorite Mario Tennis game, so following that is a tall order. Despite the big shoes Mario Tennis Fever had to fill, this game did it and then some. Fever's fresh new mechanics make this game feel just as if not more intense than Aces.

Red Alarm is a shockingly competent space shooter in the vein of Star Fox, although due to the Virtual Boy's graphical limitations, everything is in wireframe, which may leave a worse impression than the game deserves in my opinion.

Throughout my time with Rayman Legends, my jaw was on the floor. This is one of the greatest 2D Platforming games i've ever had the pleasure of playing. From the sublime level design that emphasizes flow, to the varied soundtrack, great art style, and stellar bosses, I couldn't get enough.

The Mansion of Innsmouth is a primitive and short FPS/dungeon crawler that makes surprisingly good use of the 3D tech of the Virtual Boy. It was interesting to play this, because I can see the seeds being planted for future games of this ilk, but I don't see this game as more than an oddtity tbh.

Similar to Galactic Pinball, this is yet another tech demo-y game for the Virtual Boy, only this one...sucks. Trying to render more realtistic backgrounds in red and black with parallax looks pretty awful, and telling depth is pretty tough despite being in 3D.

This is the first of two DLC Packs for Card-en-Ciel, which adds one extra story dungeon and one challenge dungeon. Although I have mixed opinions on Servants of the Dark as a game, it was still pretty cool to see these characters again and see them interacting with Neon and Ancie.

I'm guessing the weekly Nintendo Music drop was delayed for this. Although i'm surprised X got a Switch 2 Edition before the first game? I would've thought they were going in original release order but I guess not.

This is a pretty decent tech demo for the Virtual Boy, showcasing the 3D effect by having the puck sometimes go out and around the table. I also enjoyed the mechanic of being able to shake the table to stay in the game (at the cost of potentially disabling the flippers).

What a game to start off my journey through the VB-Nintendo Classics library lol. I see what the devs were going for here, and although I did have some fun with this game, I think it's too esoteric for its own good, lacking the simplicity and skill depth the other Tetris games have.

Rayman Origins is a huge step up from Rayman 1 in terms of 2D platforming design, and I was remarkably impressed with so much of what this game had to offer. The presentation, music, level design, difficulty, and even how the collectibles worked were handled beautifully. There's so much to love.

Star Successor is easily one of the most intense, difficult, and exhilarating gallery shooters I've ever played. The first game is an underrated N64 gem, and the Wii "successor" amps everything up about this game to 11 in the best way possible. This is a must-play if you like the genre.

While I enjoyed Rayman 2 more than 3, 3 still provided some pretty great platforming in its own right, and had an exceptional combat system. The Laser Detergent cans were a fantastic gameplay addition that spiced up combat, and the ability to curve punches added quite a bit more depth too.

Although I don't play many Square-Enix games nowadays, TWEWY is a franchise I tried on a whim back when the first game was on NSO Game Trials and loved, so when the sequel was on sale for $20, I figured i'd try this. This might be one of the best Action/RPGs i've ever played.

I didn't even know this game existed until today! Balloon Kid is a sequel to the NES game Balloon Fight, and feels like a proper fleshed out game as opposed to just a score attack minigame, it's surprisingly pretty fun. I just wish they explained some of the controls a little better.

I saw this game on Nintendo Music's sound selection and figured, "I like racing games, sure, i'll give this a try." It's...fine? It's a very early Famicom game so it's very simple, fidgety (in terms of controls), and a bit bland. It also loops endlessly after Level 5. I've seen worse I guess.

This $5 Switch 2 upgrade is unnecessary if you don't care about 60/120 fps, 4K, or mouse support, but very welcome if you do. I can't take advantage of 4K, so I mostly got this for mouse controls, which imo continue to be the unsung hero of the Switch 2, they're really cool.
