Despite having some classic NES crust with limited continues and an unforgiving difficulty, Bayou Billy is a pretty stellar NES genre-mash game that reminds me of games such as Vice Project Doom and Blaster Master. If you like either of those games, give this a try.

It took roughly a year, but the Mega Man X DiVE Official Complete Works is finally in my hands, along with the special RiCO card! The artwork of this game is one of my favorite parts about it, so it's so cool to have it as a coffee table book to flip through.

When I heard that Illusion Island was going to be an NSO Game Trial, I was excited. I wanted to play this game when it came out in 2023 but never got around to buying it. I'm glad I played this, as Illusion Island is a simple and charming Metroidvania, though the simplicity gets in its own way.

This video is cute by itself, but putting in the 9 Train, which no longer exists (thereby making it a *ghost train*), is exceedingly clever. Happy Halloween!

Little Nightmares is possibly my favorite horror game series with its combination of clever puzzle/platforming, show-without-tell storytelling, and unnerving setpieces and characters. LNIII does a pretty decent job at continuing this series' pedigree, but does not surpass LNII.

Miami-Dade launches first bus rapid transit line, promising faster, cooler rides for commuters

LEGO Party is the first party game in quite a while that really goes toe to toe with Mario Party, providing some interesting twists on the formula such as minigame placement determining turn order and 2v2 minigames giving Golden Bricks (think: Mario Party stars).

Once again, this is mostly an enhanced port of one of the greatest 3D Platformers ever made in my opinion. That said, unlike the first game, the new content is actually pretty interesting: I quite liked the new Storybook in Galaxy 2, as it fleshed out a character that previously didn't do much.

A tip for the third Green Star in Super Mario Galaxy 2's Flipsville Galaxy, use the homing ground pound (Y + ZL), it homes in on the Star just like it does for enemies and NPCs!

Growing up in New York, I always thought 6 1/2 Ave was a little weird (in terms of naming), but this is just absurd!

Part of this might be how I played the game, but I didn't really vibe with the controls or level design of this one tbh. In particular, the repetition of boss fights really dragged on after a while. That being said, the lore was genuinely interesting and I enjoyed the different arm cannons.

This is the first time I truly gave Bubsy a fair shake but to be honest, I found Bubsy 1 to be a frustrating experience with slippery controls and pretty poor level design. The fact that you die in one hit and move rather quickly means that you're often sliding into enemies you couldn't see.

Fatal Fury Special is an updated version of Fatal Fury 2 that adds the boss characters, a few characters from Fatal Fury 1, and a secret boss. Special also ramps up the gameplay speed. I do like the multi-lane fighting gameplay of Fatal Fury, and this SNES port, for the most part, runs fine.

Super Mario Galaxy is one of my favorite games of all time and imo, one of the best platforming games ever made. If you haven't played this game yet, this Switch release is the definitive version of the game, thanks to QOL improvements such as autosaving and using button controls in the menus.
