Indigenous women are significantly less likely to benefit from services and have worse maternal health outcomes. The reasons for this are multifactorial; the complex web of intersecting factors creates many barriers between indigenous women and girls and their right to health.

75,000+ people displaced following #earthquakes in #Ethiopia. Homes, health clinics, & schools have been destroyed. Now the #USAID freeze will block aid, halt medical care, and cut food supplies—hindering collective efforts to respond and ensure displaced people have access to essential healthcare.

The #USAID freeze comes at a time of particular insecurity for many in #Ethiopia. Ongoing #earthquakes have displaced over 75,000 people, and damaged many homes, health centres and schools. The USAID cuts will further hinder collective efforts to ensure those displaced have access to healthcare.

131 orgs in #Ethiopia—local & international—are now cut off from #USAID funds, leaving critical health & nutrition programmes in limbo. This isn't just politics. It’s a direct attack on lives, with public health consequences that will last for years.
