started a new zine! i'm planning on printing the 5 poems on my website and then mirroring them using only the words from misprints of my 10 songs zine, with all the missing words blacked out/redacted. i want it to be a kind of reflection on my own personal themes in my writing and what i prioritize

i spent a few hours last night getting familiar with the engine i want to use for THE OCEAN WELCOMES YOU instead of twine and i think i'm going to take the plunge! if i can learn twine and rpgmaker XP then i can learn this bad boy

in other a.c.d news: i was recently discharged from my 4th hospital stay in as many years, coupled with trying to focus my energy on irl Action so i don't fall into a pit of despair, i haven't been writing basically at all these past two months

shoutout to my local junk/secondhand craft store, where i essentially stock everything for my market table that's not the actual art i sell

i'm tabling at an art market on saturday that encouraged all the vendors to include an interactive element to their booth SO i'm setting up a "fold your own minizine" station and i made this tutorial to include in it! whenever i fold one-page zines, this is how i do it

last night i got kind of obsessed with the idea of writing something about a character named Sleep. we'll see if anything comes of it but Sleep is a really good name for someone imo

Thinking about media that gets celebrated for its diverse and inclusive approach to sexuality and yet fat people are nowhere to be found save for maybe as evil trolls and demons, their bodies an object of horror and ridicule

i also finished up all the writing for my next zine and now i just have to edit and then do layout, so that's exciting

slowly but surely migrating my website over to a new, cheaper, more fun webhost. hoping i have something to show by next week and can fully make the switch!

started working on a new zine...very tongue-in-cheek and sarcastic i'll probably be posting this on itchio when its done but i'm debating whether i'll make physical copies of it or not. i'm liking how its turning out though! my partner read through what i have and chuckled at all my jokes

i'm planning on going out of town next week and am going to close my online store while i'm gone! hoping to revamp the way shipping works because of the new EU guidelines and to make international orders a little easier on me coming into the new year

i've also been working on making printable versions of a few of the one-page zines i made this year because i'm tabling at TWO local zinefests in march! i've always wanted to table at a zinefest but it's never been feasible to travel and we didn't have any local ones before this year

in general, my goal for the structure of THE OCEAN WELCOMES YOU is for it to start out full of pithy dry wit and eccentricity (really embracing the point-and-click inspiration) and then slowly shift towards a gooey horrifying tone that swallows you whole

for my newest interactive fiction game, i'm writing little character profiles for all of the characters and giving each of them roles (like "The Artist" or "The Professor") to lean into the fun mystery of it all and drop some possible clues and i accidentally made two characters Very Divorced

chanting to my self "slow and steady wins the fucking race" as i add approximately 100 words to my new IF game every day as opposed to my usual 3k writing stints once a month
