I’ve played about an hour and 15 minutes of @rosunestudios.bsky.social’s Shell of a King, and in that time I’ve felt more exploratory joy than I have in pretty much every AAA game I’ve played in years No hand-holding, lots of options, and a simple but challenging bullet-hell design for combat. 1/3

I love the moments during game dev when one goes theory crafting a new idea for a mechanic or whatever, go implement that into the game and see everything actually coming together for the first time and then realize „Ok… I have COOKED!“

I decided to make BULLETnico into an actual game! (meaning I will put it on Steam so I can get a bit familiar with the process of setting up a steam page) Also I will be adding a bit more content to the game that I had to cut initially, in addition to rebalancing the bosses overall a little bit.

Pro level type of movement The little mushroom are really good at sneaking in some damage and they are making it look EASY here! :D Also crazy move dodging that one rock, I didnt even know that was possible hahaha

It is finally finished! BULLETnico is playable on itchio for free! One play through without any deaths should take around 10-15 minutes, but the game might be a bit challenging. There are also technically 2 endings! :D #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart #godotengine nicodug.itch.io/bulletnico

Some friends play tested BULLETnico today at seems like they had fun which is nice :D And of course almost immediately some bugs and exploits were found that I have to fix lol I was worried that the game was too hard but they both managed to beat it after an hour or two

10 days left! started working on the second level Making stone sprites is always so hard for me I feel like the tiles are too noisy, will probably change them later on again #indiedev #gamedev #pixelart #godotengine

11 days left! At the end of a level your play style will get graded based on clear time, how many enemies were killed and how much damage one has taken. I am not good at designing stuff like this so I just kept it simple #indiedev #gamedev #pixelart #godotengine
