Pragmata demo is a good proof of concept. The hacking during combat/ alternate methods of hacking during puzzle solving REALLY gives me faith, because if the team adds onto this as the game amps up I can see a REALLY compelling game. Different guns felt good and had purpose. Characters were fun.

I have blessedly avoided any and all E33 spoilers, but I have rarely seen a man more coded for a premature tragic death than Gustave. If bro lasts past 3/4 of the game’s runtime I will be shocked. If he lasts through to the end I’ll cut off one of my own fingers.

E33 has a tall guy that eats your party members and a medium guy who plays his toot toot horn and if you don’t dodge the delayed wind attacks that follow up you just basically die. It’s also wild how effective your little… paper-Mario style badge things are if you set ‘em up right.

I beat Stranger of Paradise, and I’m gonna take a break from it for a bit before I go back for the NG+ style stuff, so I started E33 as my next RPG. Damn man, shit’s wild.

I’ll have to let it sit with me but I actually think Stranger of Paradise might be like… the top 10 FF material. It sounds so insane to say, but it’s just so fun.

It’s only a couple years short of a decade now that I haven’t been able to get above water enough to just… read or make art.

Wicked 2 pretty good. The successful stuff adapted is -really- good, but there’s a LOT of filler moments and the new music is pretty mediocre. All in all worth it to see some of the key moments played out, and of course the duo themselves are just as great as the first time.

I really like the part in Alan Wake 2 where Alan goes ‘Man, I really am a piece of shit, this is the worst and it’s all my fault’ and Saga goes ‘Yeah, true, now shut the fuck up and fix it, loser.’ It was very good.

Really having a great time so far on my lil’ trip back to the west coast, but a brand new and seemingly consistent pain thing has started up, and it’s feeling like it might be another permanent one, which honestly feels pretty devastating at this point.

My dad just got me to watch the first episode of the show Slow Horses and then it was 4 hours later and I had watched most of the first season.

Finale Pyramid Head fight still kinda sucks, but that was probably always gonna be the case. Final boss was so heavily improved it’s stunning. James, I think, comes out as remake’s best adapted feature. Actor is excellent, and the little moments are so good. SH2R great! But SH4 still the GOAT =)

SH2:R just kept getting better at it went on. I still think the Hospital is probably it’s most successfully handled location, but both Prison and Hotel are great. Never felt tedious or blocked, backtracking never felt bad or over-wrought.

Abstract Daddy rework was a huge win. It was always so odd how it was handled OG SH2. The new one isn’t mind blowing or anything, but it’s a fun sequence leading up to the (very easy but decent) fight. Loved how he looked. Eddie fight was actually fun, which is a triumph of gargantuan proportions.

SH2 Prison was also very good. The game definitely has that quality almost every Survival Horror game has tho, where the first few hours are a stressful mess of low to no resources, and then once you hit the middle + onward you’re just absolutely drowning in ammo if you spend any time looking.

SH2R hospital was tops. James continues to be endearingly the worst, and Maria really has a lot of room to feel like more than she did in the original. As for the others, Laura and Eddie are about the same, with Laura’s new VA putting her a bit ahead, but Angela is really great this time around.

RE Village asks us the question: What if we had the a bunch of really cool ideas, none of which fully get fleshed out, ultimately leading to a disappointing confluence of potential and payoff. Also it’s awesome.

I’ve seen a smattering of folks really turned off by the Octopath 0 demo, but I haven’t seen any info on why, which has made me much more likely to play the Octopath 0 demo.

I just found out about Lobotomy Corporation/ Library of Ruina/ Limbus Company and I fear I may have stumbled into a new obsession.

I think GDT Frankenstein would be made about 30% better by the removal of a few bits of dialogue, and with a little bit more faith in the audience. It really does feel like somewhere along the line someone made the call that ‘you really should be able to tell who the good guy is,’ which is painful.
