Last week, my husband was traveling for work AND the kids had 2 days off, AND one of my kids had asthma issues that kept him home through the end of the week. Like no shit school isn't childcare. Childcare would take into account that many (most?) families have more than 1 working parent!

My children whined and complained about having to go to rock climbing camp today, because they had the day off and I was working while solo parenting. Picked them up this afternoon and it was, apparently, the greatest day of their entire 7 years on this planet (only to be surpassed by camp tomorrow)

I have purchased a label maker along with a selection of neon labels, and I am about to become an absolute MENACE in my house. My room? Clear, nice, aesthetic labels for things. Common areas/labels for everyone else? SHIELD YOUR EYEBALLS, FRIENDS. It's about to look like the 80s up in here!!

One thing we talk about constantly in my house is you are entitled to your feelings, you aren't entitled to take them out on people around you! My other go to is: there's a BIG difference between "not trying to" do something and "trying not to" do something!

This is especially fun because Tylenol is like the ONLY thing you can take OTC in pregnancy for pain!!!

Today's long term decluttering observation: for the first time in YEARS I can do a proper seasonal clothing swap instead of just digging through the clothes on the floor! I have ONE bin of off season clothes to store, and since I emptied the upstairs hall closet my things aren't in the basement!!

ALSO school supply shopping is like my favorite thing in the world, and we usually make it a whole big thing doing our shopping as a family and I am having Big Mixed Feelings about just placing pick-up orders this year in an effort to make just One Thing easier on myself. Rude, honestly!!!

Just finished our school supply shopping (virtually due to broken husband), and listen. It is incredibly sweet when teachers put things like sanitizing wipes as optional. But personally? I would like to send 6 containers of wipes. As many as you'd like. I'll set you up a subscription. Anything!!

Felt sufficiently blah last night that I stayed home from pottery. It takes a LOT for me to not want to go to the studio. Unfortunately with my husband being busted, there's no time for me to also be out of commission. Surely my body won't take that as its cue to ruin everything!!

I think, under the circumstances, that we're going to forego our annual school supply shopping trip and just do most of the shopping online to pick up somewhere. Back to School shopping is one of my favorites!! But at this age there's not much to pick out, tbh. I'm just. So. Tired.

Deeply grateful for my MIL taking my husband to Ortho this morning so I don't have to take even more time away from work. But I'd so much rather take him myself, if I'm being honest. Juggling all the things is by far my least favorite part of being an adult, y'all.

And, as if on cue, my husband would appear to have broken his ankle. Momma's gonna need a grippy sock vacation by the time September arrives.... On the bright side, I was able to secure crutches at Walgreens, which surprised me. Their home health/mobility aid aisle actually impressed this spoonie!

Camp this week is only Mon-Thurs 8:30-3. The last tiny bit of childcare respite before school finally starts. Prepping a bottle of champagne and a day off for when those kids are finally out of my house again. (Obligatory my kids are amazing and I adore them but school needs to start yesterday!)

Today in "public school schedules are garbage for working parents" my kids have meet the teacher next week on two different days. That means two workdays next week where I need to take at least an hour out to drive to school, do the things, drive home. Good Christ I can't wait for school to start

Turned off the AC last night, and I'm still ready to pull my warm clothes out of storage this morning because I'm FREEZING trying to sit at my desk. Gonna have to pull out the heating pad to keep myself from just crawling under the covers (which would inevitably lead to falling asleep!)

Deep cleaning the living room this weekend because my kid's asthma seems to be at its worst here. I have moved furniture, vacuumed inside the backs of the couches, removed the rug and washed it. I could really use 2 days off after this to recover! Regardless, it feels good to get stuff done I guess.

Managed to make exactly one pair of earrings from my first little batch of flower charms. The wires on all the rest broke, because my high fire wire was a lie. I don't anticipate this pair will survive long, but at least I know what I need to fix for the next batch!!

Everything sucks, but I got my gorgeous sponge holder back from the kiln, and several flower charms managed to survive (despite my high fire wire being not so high fire, apparently!). Now I must procure hardware to make them into jewelry or something. Oh no, another reason to buy craft supplies....
