Late update, Im sorry Basically the plans to get a tracheotomy done to insert a breathing tube in her neck, as well as a feeding tube. She'll be in a long-term nursing facility, but while the chance is very small, there IS still a chance she could recover enough to be able to come home

Tried to remove breathing tube yesterday but had to put it back due to liquid still building up in lungs On ventilator shes ok, but she cant come home till she can breathe without it & the liquid buildup They did a CT scan this morning, but have to wait a few bit for results

No big changes, UTI antibiotics are still ongoing, CT scan came back, no new swelling, breathings ok, oxygen, pulse, & BP all still good Theyre hoping to take her breathing tube out today, decision will be made soon, but her sedation was increased due to her trying to pull on it

No major changes, grandmother caught a uti though and has a small fever They WERE hoping to remove her breathing tube today, but decided against it due to the fever and infection Beyond that, no real changes still, but vitals are still looking okay

No changes from yesterday, though they're gonna hopefully get the MRI done today & maybe lower her reliance on the medication drips Also 5 hours from now it'll be 5 days since the stroke, & after 72 hours, 3-5 days the textbook time frame, so swellings looking okay so far

No eta on the MRI for the gallbladder, but its not going to be today They WERE able to set the breathing machine to minimum settings, which means she's mostly breathing on her own right now, which is good However, she's still having mucus dripping into the lungs, which is bad

Still no major swelling and nothing came up on chest or pelvis, but stomach scans showed a potential sign of cancer around the gall bladder I believe, but they couldn't quite tell so they'll be re-scanning today Signs still point positive mostly, & we're already 68 hours past the time of the stroke

New day, new update She's still on the breathing tube, vitals are the same, no real changes so far from yesterday to today. Good news, relatively though, is that there doesn't seem to be any swelling yet, major at least, first 72 hours is the worst, and we're going on 40 so far

Right now, they had removed her breathing tube from her mouth & she only had the nose one, but just now I was on the phone with the doctor and they're having to reinsert the tube due to saliva building in her lungs due to her inability to swallow Vitals however are good, for now

Grandma had another stroke & is in the ICU with a blood clot in the brain, I'll know by Friday at the latest if she'll survive due to the nurse telling me that the first 72 hours is the most dangerous time for swelling from a stroke Please pray for my grandmother, idk what I'm gonna do without her
